oil change question sorry if its a repost

hi all i got a question about oil change. i have a 08 tsx with about 3.8k miles on it, and my oil life is down to 10% left. i know the manual says about 5k is which the first oil change/service is due, at this rate i dont know if the remaining 10% oil life can carry my car to its mark of 5k miles. has anyone has this problem? its getting me a bit worried, im not sure if this is normal, my previous cars never had this issue. what would be a wise thing to do? take it to the dealer now for service? or wait till the oil life goes down a bit more? im a bit confused.. if anyone can help it be appreciated.

you will have no problem with waiting until it gets to 0%. do to my driving I did not get my 1st oil change until it showed 1,210 miles past due. You must do alot of stop and go driving. I noticed you live in bergen county-I grew up there (Demarest)

Where in the owner's manual does it say 5K miles is when the 1st service is due? On cars with Maintenance Minder, the computer calculates oil life/maint. needs based on the way the car is driven/time/temp etc. There is no more maintanence schedule in the book, except for a few items that are based only on time (brake fluid is one example).

A car driven short trip or aggressively can easily need the oil changed around 3500/4000 miles.

Relax no worries at all. I had 5% at about 4.3K
5k is not a solid concrete number.. Your first oil change could be at 5K plus or minus, it all depends on your driving habits (traffic, stop and go, city, Hwy..etc)
