Need Help - Providing Price Quote to Get Good Price on '07 TSX

Hey Yall,

I'm been looking to buy a new TSX w/ Nav for quite awhile now (since I joined this forum late last year) and I think I'm ready to finally do so, but I need some help.

Just a couple days ago I sent some emails to various dealers asking if they could beat a price I was quoted (I said $26,660), out of the few, one responded with the email below:

"Thanks for giving me a shot. I really appreciate that. I'll need my boss to OK this one, so to help me help you, can you forward me the whole quote from the dealer that gave it to you and while you're at it, let me know what colors you'll consider, because if I have the right color, the money doesn't mean anything. Thanks again and I look forward to hearing back from you."

The thing is, the best quoted price I have had so far was $27,500, not $26,660 like I said. I just threw that figure out there (though I think its realistic) but I don't have a "whole quote" to provide. What should I do?

And I hope I don't offend anyone if this is a "dirty" tactic or whatever. Obviously I just want the best deal possible, and I need to save $$$ because I already have a long list of mods...JDM is definitely not cheap...

So any input is appreciated, thanks!

27.5k isn't a horrible price but there's room to maneuver. I'd say a good price is closer to 27k for an 07 with Navi. I'm in the same boat as you and I'm trying to get the best deal possible. Right now I got 27k on a Navi and 26.5k on non-Navi. With those numbers, I might as well get the Navi, but I know that I'd be able to talk down the price a little more. I'm finding that you're getting to get jerked around a little and need to go in person and negotiate and get jerked around a little less. Most people won't give you a quote in writing to take somewhere else, but 27.5 is a good place to start. Just remember that you can walk away from any deal you don't like. They need your business more than you need a new TSX.

The dealer knows your lying, they deal with this all the time. Basically he is calling you out on it as a new TSX with nav is not available at the price you quoted. The basic invoice on a TSX nav is about 28K including destination charge (there may be regional ad fees that the dealer must pay, I'm not sure where you are located).

You won't be able to buy a nav TSX for invoice on a non nav car. In my area, low 28's is a good price for a nav car. I would suspect that your 27500 will end being 27500+ 670 (destination). Now your right at the low 28's.
