Key fob no longer chirps

I've got a weird one guys. A couple of days ago my key fob stopped chirping when I pressed the fob twice (the car acknowledged the lock command as the vehicles lights flashed and the key fob's LED lit up). I was a bit surprised so I stood and looked at my lock (drivers) and noticed that only it did not lock. The rest did. I locked the car manually (key) and left.

After leaving I returned and found I could not unlock the car with the key fob. I had to manually unlock with the key. Again, the lights on the vehicle flashed as if acknowledging and the LED lit up.

I'm using the TL Switchblade, so I decided to try my old key fob (maybe bad batteries in the switchblade fob). Nope. Old transmitter doesn't work either; same thing, lights flash on vehicle but driver's door does not lock or unlock.

Anyone have an idea on what happened? Can't think of anything I did recently which may have caused this.

Sounds like your driver's door lock actuator is busted. What year do you have? Since I don't have the TL switchblade key, I can't comment on the chirping as my key fob has never chirped.

I have the TL switchblade key and my key had NEVER chirped. My car beeps, but not the keyfob itself. I didn't even know that it would do such a thing. That would get annoying for me...I'm glad mine doesn't do it.

I too have the TL switchblade key/fob.

It does not chirp. The car chirps, not the key fob.

I should correct the title...the car no longer chirps (not the key fob). The year is 05...sounds like I have to take a trip to the dealer then...

If you can do the work yourself, you'll save about $200. The part is like $25 or $2.50, can't remember the exact amount. Do a search....Kenny did the job and posted a DIY.

If the doors are not all locked then you won't get the acknowledgment from the security system. So you won't get the honk/beep nor will the parking lights flash. This happened to me when my driver's door actuator died.
