Coolant Drain and Fill 3.2

I am ready for a coolant change, I have the Service Manual but confused between the 2.5 and 3.2.

Somebody please confirm which is right.

I have a 3.2 and it says, open up drain on radiator....ok.

Open up engine block drain on top of alternator...take battery off first.......it shows the drain on the right side of the engine...on top of alternator.....

For the 2.5, it shows the drain underneath the engine.......

Which one is which?

Can somebody confirm?

Of course I am using Honda pre-mixed coolant.

Thanks.

Ok, I tried to do it today, but can not access the Engine Drain bolt, you will need a deep socket, 19 mm and it is very tricky to get there. The manual does not show 2 1" wire bundles that are on the way to clearly access the bolt. From beneath, it is also difficult. There must be a special tool they use to access this drain plug.

Pisses me off, I will find that tool.

Anybody's done this and has a suggestion how to do it?

Cannot believe nobody's done their drain and fill for the coolant @ 75,000 miles?

Hi. I've been searching the forums and have not seen anyone post the location of the '96 3.2 TL Coolant Engine Drain bolt. Does anyone have a description or possibly picture of where this is at?

I was under my car for an hour this weekend searching for that bugger with no success ...

It is located behind the alternator. I tried to unplug it last time, but no go. You need a long ratchet to get in there and swing it. It is tight. I tried from below and from above. You have to take out the battery to get to it. So far, I have not drained and filled. I need to. I might just do the radiator and not worry about the block.

Thanks for the info Mandy -- I have not performed my coolant drain yet either, however I called the local Acura dealership and talked to their service department. The person I talked to recommended just draining and filling the radiator. He was saying that you will get about 3/4ths of the coolant out, which is probably good enough for me and it will be a lot less hassle.
