ok so i need new tires lol. obviously i figured if i could find some tl wheels i would just throw those on well not having any luck. to bad 99blackhatch isnt closer or i would buy his lol. well i modded my wifes 03 altima a while back just wheels, exhaust and lowering. well she has her stock wheels left over they are 17s and 7 spoke wheels here is a pic below. what do you guys think these would look like on the RL? curious to get some opinions. cause i figured since i need tires i can throw some tires on these and throw them on the car. have some simple wheels for now lol. lmk what you guys think.

these are the exact wheels same size tires almost a little smaller probally

As long as the offset is able to work on the RL, i'd say go for it for now. Rather be safe than sorry.

no need to drive around on bad tires, if you have an extra set with good tires.

^ exactly. But these dint have tires is what I was saying lol. But since im buying tiires anyways I figured these would give it a little different look. For now.untill I can afford a set of wheels lol

I'd go with buying tires for these... Craigslist can be helpful for this as well. Or having friends that work at a Dobbs or any type of tire place.

If you're friends with people that Drift, this is also helpful and you can pick up cheap tires from them if the tires have some decent tread as well. I don't think I've had to buy a brand new set of tires in 5 years.


And replacement tires for the gf's wheels makes sense... you have them and get All Weather tires to use them in the winter if needed. Otherwise if you buy new wheels and tires and have to remove them in the winter, then you're still at the same problem.

plus, since stock wheels are 16s and these are 17s its a step up lol. so a little bigger wheels and new tires.. hey whats size tires were you running on the tl wheels? i have been thinking about picking up a set of 215/45/17.

alright so i can figure these wheels out does anyone know what the center bore size for a 99 rl wheels is? cause im pretty sure the center bore for altima is 66.1 just not sure on the rl center bore.

The TL wheels are 17x8... and i was running 235/45/17 on them for years. Beefy tire that wasn't too much, it didn't rub on the front or rears, and little to no camber.

Here's a mistake I did, and I recently just put my oem's back on. Lessons learned. I really liked the rims but not for the RL as you can see.

Too much poke? What is the problem exactly... kind of dark to see...

and i needs to be lowered a bit to make wheels work.

Poke was really bad back tires rubbed over the slightest bump, Sorry that's the only picture I have before I took them off had them on for 2weeks couldn't stand hurting my baby and sounded like the suspension was taking a toll not to mention the MPG, that was terrible. I had to put a adapter to fit the 5x120 lug (20MM)

I'm guessing the spacer you installed to run the conversion was about a 20mm spacer... that would take a lot of rolling and pulling and camber to make that all work.

Otherwise the wheels look decent, sucks they ended up with too much poke.

Yeah the adapter/spacer was 20mm, I didn't want to go with the aggressive camber route and the roll and pull would be insane on my fender probably would end up cracking bad. I really wanted to keep them but the poke like that around the state of Washington would have gotten me pulled over for sure and the 5% tint double hit.

Is there any chance that you have have the back faces of the wheels CNC'd down to lower the offset on the wheel?

Odd option, but it is possible i guess.

those wheels actually look really good to bad they have to much poke you could make it work with some camber, and pulling your fenders.

Ill have to look into that Black about CNC the back of the rims, Im trying to do more of the flush look rather then the VIP I think Id be doing a lot of camber if I tried to make it work but yes they really look good on the RL.

^^ yea alot of states will now adays i have actually been pulled a couple times on my past cars for poked wheels lol

Yeah, anything that sticks out past fender is illegal. I would go lower but the offset as you can see is terrible back rubbed I really could barely fit one finger in rear, front no problem that was almost 3. Im going to look into what Black mention on CNC'd the back of the faces to give a better offset and maybe order custom 5mm adapter spacer, and of course lower it

I once saw someone in a Stratus with tires poking out 7 inches. Looked ridiculous.

I used to have 7% mirror tint all around. Never got stopped for it. If I ever move I will have to get used to these "new" rules lol

Idk the chrome in the right wheel looks good cause they call it platinum lol. I have always liked silvee finshed faces with polished lip lol. But I have been highly considering those wheels come tax time cause the tsw wheels are out of my price range

alright so i test fitted the wheels to get a idea the wheels fit find over the hub and bolt to hub fine with stock lugs. wheels are 17x7 +35 offset so not to bad actually at all. and i think they actually look pretty decent of course im going to take the center caps out so i dont have nissan on them haha but here is a pic

Pop the center cap out of the Acura wheels replace it in the Nissan wheel and call it a day. Lol

G35 / 350Z wheels are possible... depends on the offset though.

I've looked into it before and i believe that they are about (+20 or +25)... little lower than what RLs are used to unless rolled and pulled.

^^ yea same as i looked into 350z wheels cause a friend of mine was going to give me a set. but offset wasnt going to work.

yea i dont know what car they came off they were on my wifes altima when we bought it. but tires will be here soon so i can get them mounted.

right about the offset, it would need a stretch and pull in the fenders to pull off +25.
i sure miss my 19' g35 rays tho...on my maxima..that was my first true love lolz. 03 6 speed maxima.

i noticed with 99 black hatch he is running a 18x8 +30 fine with no issues. and the wheels i put on above are a 17x7 +35 and im flush with fenders so i would say anywhere from a +35-+25 is probally lowest i would suggest.

I'd stick around the (+25) which might be pushing it... but it also depends on the wheel size as well.

Yeah, I'm lowered on my 18x8.5 (+30) and i'm tucking a little without being rolled or pulled yet... but i have spacers ready to go on to push them out more of course.

My old TL wheel set up was 17x8 (+45) with a 5mm spacer and they would rarely rub while being tucked, but depending on the tire of course, some brands would cause rubbing, others cleared the unrolled rear quarters just fine.

With the info above, I never raised or changed my suspension setup height.
