SRS Warranty

Ok, I've been trying to diagnose this SRS light. I've done some reading and it appears to be the senors & OPDS unit but the TSB is saying it should be under warranty. I have 130K on my 04RL. I went to the dealer and of course they want $137 to diagnose. Any ideas?

I always tell my customers there will be a diagnostic charge only if what we find is not covered under warranty. Some dealers charge for the diag anyway, even if the reason for the light is covered under warranty. I would ask them if they would still charge you, and probably get the diag done anyway even if they would. The dealer is pretty much the only place that can fix that issue anyway, and will be the only place where you can get warranty work like that done.

i would get on that asap, its a 10 year from the date of mfg....your 04 could be produced in 03 (2013 being the last year) for me it was not covered under warranty. if you have code 15-1 or 15-3 i believe itll be covered. i have the same issue on my 00. dealer didnt cover. i tried acura customer care..made a special appeals case....attempted to have it covered under "goodwill entension" past the warranty period. no go.
good luck.

So what was the final outcome. I took mine to the dealership the other but they still didn't tell me what was wrong. They got rid of the VSA, ABS and triangle lights but not the SRS

theres a sensor commonly that fails in the passenger seatback. its the spds? pad...
its a sensor that knows if there is a passenger seated there. thats likely the culprit to my guess. the entire airbag system is non functional even due to a defective passenger sensor unfortunately.
i havnt decided what im going to do for my issue...the cheapest i can find the part online is about 550$.

There is a manual or guide or info forum somewhere around here that tells you how to diagnose the SRS light. I know not the most helpful, but I'll dig around a few minutes and see what I can find. By the way, if the dealer had the put out a VSA, ABS, and warning light, it sounds to me like you have a lot more going on with your car than just the SRS. If all the systems are acting up, maybe your computer is going bad?

Hate the dealer

Took the RL to the dealership and they removed all the codes by resetting the ecu, etc. they still didn't do anything with the SRS light they addressed everything except that
