Yes. I don't know why manufacturers got away from this. I remember even in my '88 Corolla I had an "Econ" setting that would cycle the compressor, thus in theory, improving mileage.

truthfully I dont think so. I think it still cycles on and off and econ mode just does it more???

You know does anyone still use the full auto mode? Since gas went up alot last year Ive been using the econ mode most of the time.

I wonder if it would make a difference gas milage wise.

I wouldn't say a whole lot, epically if your doing mostly city driving. I bet you might get an extra 2-3mpg on the highway.

I've been trying to imagine what my car might look like with the H&R springs and some aggressive (17x9 or 18x9) wheels all around...

I say ney.

18x what though? the offset is between 35-45? Is that a guess on his part? Cause the info is on the back of the wheel.

It will have stamped onto it the offset = ETxx , and the width of course = 18x X"

What H&R springs there Jax? theres a couple of guys on that other forum slammed on 18x10's

The H&R springs that were only offered in Europe. The ones that you have to get from the guy on ebay.eu.

Well I've done roadtrips that are fairly consistent in their parameters.

A/C econ saved maybe 1 or 2 mpg. So instead of 23 mpg, I'd get 24 or maybe 25 mpg. My record was 26 mpg in Washington thanks to the lack of ethanol and consistent 70 mph travel speeds.

Welp, thanks to all y'alls help, I was able to piece together a suspension set up. It's been in my garage for a few months now so I finally got unlazy and decided to install the wheels, tires and suspension.
Here's a small pic for now until I can clean her up and do a proper photoshoot.

Do the Koni's provide any lowering? I know you said stock springs in the front, but it does look lower. Did you use Koni's meant for Legends or TSX's?

The konis by themselves using the legend pinchforks will lower the front 1" and the rear about 1/4".

That is on the lower perch setting.

The Konis also have some extra grooves cut into them giving a total of 3 notches. I have it on the second notch on all of them and it gave the car more of a drop. A lil too much though cuz my mud flaps scrape on E V E R Y T H I N G.

hmmmmm

The front had 3 notches/grooves? Cause Legend Konis (and almost every other application) only have 2 grooves in the front. higher one being normal height, and the lower one being about 1" drop. The rear on the other hand has 3 grooves. The middle groove is normal height, the top groove is higher for towing, and the lower groove is there for lowering. On the Legend the konis will lower the front 1" and the rear about 5/8". On the RL the Legend konis will still lower 1", but the rears will only lower about 1/4".

If you have more than 2 grooves in the front then I think the previous owner had some grooves machined in.

The RL is really low to begin with though. At stock height my front mudflaps and under body wind splitter would scrape fairly regularly on speedbumps etc.

Yeah, the dude I got them from works @ CCW and had a machinest add some grooves. He pieced the kit together and I was lucky enough to score them from him while he was upgrading to some big dollar coil over set up. Maybe I just feel like it's alot lower because of the mudflaps gridning. I think I'll give the 3rd notch a try when I get some better wheels with a lower tire size.

Have you ever had an accell judder while being lowered, hatch?

That's wierd. It's nothing too annoying or untolerable. I was just curious if it's bad for the front differential. I've never had a car with a frt diff.
I really only notice it when I'm on an uphil accel or a freeway accell.

Thanks RL guru.

I miss my RL

My fiance totaled her car 3 weeks ago trying to drive through a puddle and I gave her my car to drive. I'm driving my TL right now while I figure out what to buy.

I gotta be honest, every time I drive the RL now, I'm amazed at what a nice ride it is.

I'm looking for a 04-06 TL 6MT without much luck. Also looking at some G35's if I can find a sedan with a 6MT.

Missed the fiance comment.

I took the insurance money from her car and paid off the RL. I ended up taking a loan on it after paying cash for it to have money to cover some wedding expenses. Now it's paid off and I can move on with my life.

Best part - no more sentra in the family.

I'd get an M but only if it's M45 sport. I really was trying to stay in the 12-13K range but that's not happening and a M45 sport is going to be well over that.

I found a pearl white/gray 05 TL. It has nav, 6 speed, back up sensors, aspec kit, snow tires/summer tires with 67K on it that I might jump on. I'm trying to find something fun to drive and will still get me good MPG. I've been having to drive to Chicago a lot lately and I wouldn't mind a few extra mpg's.

Wife wants either an MDX or Camry I'm not opposed to MDX but we don't really have a need for it. I look at this as my chance to get something fun for a few years that I'll have to get rid of for an SUV when the kids start coming. Or the MDX will be added to the stable later. I don't think I'll ever get rid of the old TL or the RL.

Well she's basically a wife...we've been living together for a while, bought a place together.

What SUV's are you looking at? There's a nice 04 MDX white/tan with nav with only 47K miles for sale in New Berlin. Reasonably priced at $17,500. He said he'll let it go for $17.

we're looking for either one of these:
-Acura MDX (2007+)
-Lexus GX470 (2005-07)

my wife wants a minivan, such as a Odyssey, but i don't like minivans; they're too soccer moms and what if i want to drive it too!

04 MDX w/ 47K miles for $17K isn't bad. is there a contact number/info? i may want to go take a look.

You know why I love Acura?

Because after 8 years of being on the road and 138,500 miles, it can still look like this after a fresh detail.

I love how everything holds up so nicely in these cars. Floormats are still drying. I have an extra brand new set but I don't think I'm going to put them in until after this winter.

I decided to do a full in and out detail today. Took a total of 6 hours. I have not cleaned the inside fully since I've had it so figured I'd do it before handing her off to the fiance.

Probably going to be buying a pearl white TL this week with a 6 speed
