RDX going in for rear bumper repair

My wife was bumped at the rear by this idiot trying to rush out of the parallel parking lot. This idiot claimed that my wife reversed into him, when our car was stationary the whole time and our car was the first car in the parallel parking lot, which means she just have to move forward to get out. Some idiots can simply lie through their teeth with no conscience. My take on this, what goes around comes around...

Anyway, the autobody shop said they were going to refinish the whole bumper, including some of the knicks and blemishes that were there before.
Always wanted to have those blemishes taken care of...

IMO I don't think it's worth doing that....YOu are in Boston, and that will happen again...I'd say just wait until you move, you have to return lease/sell car, or put one of these on it....

Yup... Liberty mutual indicated that it was the guy's fault, and his premium will be taking care of it. But he did give the false story to the adjuster, which the adjuster agreed with me that it is not probable that it could happen as the other driver said. What irks me is that people will lie through their teeth just to try to get away with things.

Got update from autobody shop that they fixed additional "light paint damage" just above the bumber on the lift gate. Insurance will be covering it was well. Glad they found it and fixed it as well.

How does the color match with the Pearl White look? I had two different shops paint two different items (front bumper and tailgate panel) and neither shop could get it close due to the plastic material. Both of the shops had too much yellow.

okay, had a chance to have a clearer look at the repair work, and it looks pretty good.

Remember, the original factory paint of the bumper does not quite exactly match the one on the rest of the car, the former being slightly "more beigy".

The autobody shop indicated that they simply sprayed the standard base white, and layer over it the pearl "dust" and then followed by several layers of clear coats.

Overall, I have to say, I can't really tell the difference between the tailgate paint job, and the bumper and the rest of the car. Reasonably happy with the work. They even cleaned up my whole car both exterior and interior.
