CRAZY - after all these years....

I am the sad owner of a 2007 RDX Turbo w Navigation system, etc. bought the car used 5 years ago (2015) from a dealer, shortly after that the fun started -
- replaced the turbo
then
-replaced the rack steering
then
-replaced the transmission
today I am replacing the
-engine - thermostat stuck and overheated

I am expecting she will never run the same again...I've done all I can for her.
I think she's at the end of her life....she still looks good tho - in great shape inside and out - love the turbo - on the highway she can pass everything on the road - that feeling when you step on the gas and your head sucks back in the head rest!
I will never buy another Acura product - it was fun while it lasted.
I will miss her.....
RIP

You've had some bad luck. Or maybe the previous owner really abused it.

Bad turbo is common as well as leaky power steering rack. ALL vehicles have their common failures... If the coolant temp. gauge was paid attention to the vehicle wouldn't have overheated! Could probably just get away with a head gasket and resurface the head...that's the usual fix. Pretty solid vehicle, not many problems with those at all.

Wow. I don't think I would have sunk the money into it. Turbo, transmission, steering rack. As a general rule, if the repair is equal or above 40% of the car's value, you should consider getting rid of it. Hopefully you did not pay too much in 2015 for the 2007 RDX. I have a 2011 I bought in 2014, and knock on wood, no real problems yet. Except the passenger sun visor broke. That was only a $50 repair though. Not a transmission or turbo. Not yet anyway. Good Luck

Turbo, Transmission, & Engine are perfect on my RDX thank god. It’s a 2009 with 144,000 miles and has been heavily modified since the warranty was finished I had it extended to 120,000 when I bought it. Sorry, yours seems to have bad luck...

Strange.... these transmissions come out of the RL and can handle 400 hp stock. They're almost bulletproof.

Same for the turbo, failure rate is low.

I'm at 295K miles on my 2007. No problems with the engine/transmission/turbo ever.

The power steering and door actuators, on the other hand.....

Yeah, I haven't heard of many people's turbo failing. My 2008 RDX is at 95k miles (bought new) and everything is working perfectly on it. The exterior also looks quite good and some people think it's a new car. I have a little wrinkling on the center armest but that's the only imperfection. It was also garaged for the first half of its life but now sits outside as my two car garage is occupied by more valuable cars.

Yeah same here you take care of it and it will return to you with compliments. The interior leather and exterior paint is junk though it doesn’t wear well at all.
