Close enough 1st Gen turbo replacement, 2017 CDX
Here are some pics of the 2017 CDX that will be offered in China for now. Looks like it will have a 1.5T+8DCT. Not sure about awd system; assuming it will be the CR-V/+13 RDX awd system maybe? Can't tell; but, it looks like they added additional LEDs lights (8-9 per side)?
The current 1.5T is rated at 138hp/162lb-ft and it will be hauling around 2900-3200lbs for the CDX. Maybe the I-4 2.4L will be an option some where around 201hp/180lb-ft like in the ILX or 206hp/182lb-ft in the TLX?
Add AWP, larger turbo engine (honda civic type-r 2.0L 310hp/295tq), and sh-awd; this will be my next Acura.

It finally shown it fancy face. Not digging the new grill but will hold judgement until I see it in person. But either way, the size is similar to the HRV which won't work for me. Now if the current RDX makes an option turbo engine, then sign me up!

Acura needed an entry level CUV to match up with the ILX since they already have the TLX/RDX and RLX/MDX kinda grouped together. I've gotten so use to driving an CUV/SUV, I don't think I can go back to a sedan like the ILX/TLX and the current RDX is too much money at $35k-$44k for a daily commuter/errand vehicle. I would really look at the CDX If they price the CDX around the same as the ILX ($28k-$35k), add full AWP, awd option, able to add a trailer hitch (for bikes), and Acura doesn't skimp on tech/luxury items (add apple/android carplay).

I think it might depend where the CDX/HR-V will be manufactured? There might be a pretty good chance of the CDX coming to the North America if they build it on this side of the pond.

Based on our turboed RDX's demise, even IF it comes here the CDX won't have a hotrod motor available.
The masses don't seem to care for entry level lux with enough power to get out of its own way. Seems the need is for low price and mpg over performance.

If they are smart, they will bring it. Gm is building the buick envision mid size suv in china and bringing it here, so why not Acura.

fingers crossed that its not the 1.5 turbo they put in it.. that would be a disgrace to it

I don't know if I agree. At first though, I was like yeah, a 1.5 is not going to work. But the ford escape has a 1.6 (and most likely weighs quit a bit more) and actually does pretty alright.

You forgot Acura's #1 law: to dissapoint loyal consumers and enthusiasts by under delivering, or simply not giving them what they want.

Null and proud of it
I see a market for this...
We have the Buick Encore, BMW X1, Audi Q3, the Lexus NX interior is tiny, the may have more space!!!
I don't know if the X1 is still in production as I never see them, or ever paid attention to them...
But still, I see it coming here in a few years, maybe....
I really liked the new HR-V, and it was swarmed at the auto show, there was about five people around it at any given time, I've never seen so much general pubic (Non-Enthusist) interest in a car like that...
Now, canaries to the RDX, I don't know, I see this selling with young people without children, people wanting fuel economy, and the elderly...
I just don't see it having SH-AWD, or a stiff suspension...
It will likely handle well, as all Acura/Hondas do, but nothing spectacluar... Just my
