cl wont start ANY OPINIONS??
recently my car has been very unreliable as far as starting goes.... sometimes it starts right up and other times it will just keep clickin and wont start at all~~ i called AAA the other day to get the cl towed to a shop in town, he asked to hear my car start and said it was probably a bad battery terminal... after gettin that fixed my car went another week with no problem. Now just this morning when i needed it for a job interview it started acting crazy again~~ does anyone have any thoughts on what it might be

maybe the alternator or the actual battery. Did they run a test on either when you took it in?
what year is the car? How many miles?

If lights turn on when car won't start probably not the battery. I would check the cable from the battery to the starter, the connection at the starter and the possibly a relay for the fuel pump.

IT"S YOUR STARTER!!! Trust me on this one dude. I just had to replace mine a few months ago. Sometimes it starts and other times you hear a loud click. The click is your solinoid. It's gone bad and since the starter isn't several pieces like american cars, you have to replace the whole starter.

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
is it starting and then dying, thats what mine did, and i replaced the alternator and it was fine. i dont know about a starter, i have never had to replace a starter in a newer car before, only time was in my 67 mustang. i would look into taking the alternator down to kregans or some auto shop and have them test it along with the battery

My starter went out on my 98 2.3 and it only had 43,000 miles at the time.
The starter ran me about 260-280 for a brand new one with a 5 year warranty. Don't have someone put it in for you. My friend did mine and it only took him about 10-15 minutes. No joke! It's really easy. There's only 3 bolts I believe.

Here's the deal, it's either starter or battery, so here is where we start.
Test Battery:
Beg/Borrow/Steal a voltmeter and connect it to your battery.
With the car off the voltage should be around 10 - 12.5
Turn your headlights on, if the voltage drops considerably then get a new battery. Get one from wal-mart, the price is right and they put the 2-year warranty right on the side of the battery.
Starter:
It engages sometimes so it is not likely the solenoid, if the battery is good then just go to your dealer or auto parts store and replace it.
I can't give you directions on the starter because my 99 taffeta white 3.0 CL does not come till saturday. I come from the integra GSR camp, and i love to get my hands dirty, so if you need help...

who got the best deal?
ok when ur car doesnt want to start have someone hit the starter while u attemp to start it and it should start fine tahts a temporary solution until you can afford it. if you live in a cold area and since its turning into hot weather right now taht messes up ur starter. i dont ahve the facts to prove it but all the starters in my family went out during the past couple of months. u can get your starter "rebuilt" for about 40 bucks anywhere else its gonna be 200+.

I had my ignition switch replaced for free as a recall by honda. You might be able to get it done for free. Go on to the acura website to the owners link if you don't know if had it done already. I was having a bad time starting the car. the info is:

Hey on that ignition recall was it the ignition module or was it the ignition key switch that acura is recalling
