I like the eyelids because they're subtle, that's all I would want if I had them. Retro looks hawt from far away

Thanks for the input guys. I might get some better tape, put it on a little thinner, and try that out for a few days to make a decision.
I don't want to go and buy some real ones just to end up deciding I dont like them.
I tried metallic tape also, but that didn't look very good.
I was thinking about doing these to make the black of the shrouds match with something.
Maybe I should paint the silver curved edge of the headlights
Also installed my headunit tonight!! It's awesome, though installing it was not. The dash kit doesn't fit right, the bezel doesn't fit, and the wiring was a bitch because, among other things, the head unit's harness was missing that amp wire, so I had to pull out the power antenna wire and put it in the remote slot.
But damn it feels so good to have that and the lights squared away. Now I need to get new corner bulbs.. I'm actually thinking of going with yellow to try something different.

It could also very well be possible your ballasts are on their way out...as flickering/erratic behavior are typical signs. But I'd start with taking out those led's first and see how that goes.

Making more stuff fit in my CL when it ain't supposed to. Group 24 batt underhood:
Also doing more audio work this weekend. It's been a long day, but I gotta be back up and at it tomorrow to have any kind of chance of finishing what needs to be done this weekend...

I used vent stack roof flashing
I bought two of these, cut a strip out of that middle part, and then trimmed to fit. It was a great choice because it is pretty cheap and it is a thick rubber, so it gave in places it needed to give, it was easy to cut, but it is stiff enough to keep shape and not sink in or flop around.
I really wanted to keep everything chrome, but I really wanted to just get the project over with, and these were perfect in every other way.

After a long long long weekend working on the car, I'm left with this:
The car is still peaking way too high (55hz now, needs to be down around 43hz) and this is with no seal in the car, the loading wall not sealed, a brand new hu that needs to be tuned, among other things, so I'm very happy with the score. I probably have another 2 db or so just in the box itself, let alone another 1-2 in getting the box sealed to the car.

Welp, just got my foglights fully installed. I hooked everything up last night and then just test fitted the actual fogs with some zip ties. I drilled them in today so they are all set. The only thing that is going to look a little different is that I have them pointed a little more to the outside than in these pictures. It does look a little funny that they point out instead of straight on, but they are an easier fit this way, plus I preferred the wide fog angle, rather than pointing mostly straight ahead. I do wish they looked like they were facing forward. Oh well, compromises. I can always change it if I get sick of it. Can't wait till tonight to fire them up again and see the final product in all its glory.
These are the test fit pictures from last night, with my camera phone, first on lowest brightness setting, then more bright, and then about half brightness.

I wanted to use the metal back plates that came with them, but the HID plugs were nowhere close to going through there. So I had to drill out the holes much bigger in them, and then I used the rubber rings that came with the HIDs to plug them up. It almost looks like it was meant to be that way. Couldn't be happier with that.
Also, I didn't want to use the stupid button that came with the kit, but I didn't want to bother with trying to do custom wiring to use the OEM fog light button either. BUT I did manage to rig it up to use it anyway! I opened up the button that came with the fog kit, glued it to the back of the fog button, so when I press the OEM fog button, it presses the button that came with the kit! The button won't light up like it should stock, but that's no big deal for me.
The HID fogs are 3000k ones from HIDExtra. I have a 5000k lowbeam set coming in that I am going to swap in the lowbeam projectors. I'm going to take my current setup out and set them aside for a backup set. Hmm... maybe I could put those in for highbeams....

Sweet shneee, glad you got the fogs all hooked up. I have been dying to put mine in but don't have my new bumper yet. I really like the look of the 3000k with your setup, looks good
#815
Thanks man! I was really going back and forth between matching 5000ks or the 3000ks. I decided to try something outside of my comfort zone, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. You have OEM fogs right? Are you going HID with them?

no more oem fogs, I have black projector fogs, I posted pics of them a while back, but never mounted them. The oem fogs were too rusted to replace the bulbs so I cut them out of the bumper

Swapped out the front 6x9 door speakers in my 4Runner with gnate's Type S Alpines that I bought off him, they sound so much better than the blown pieces of shit that were in the doors.

^^^you blew your speakers in that 4runner already? isnt that thing like an 07? lol
not much of a project but i put a Hytech replica race header on my car last week. but the end of the header (collector) fell way short from the mid-pipe of my exhaust so its at the shop as we speak getting a custom straight pipe fabbed up for it.
pictures later or tomorrow.

No it's an 03, the one door speaker was blown when I bought it, these new ones shouldn't ever blow though, I'm not pushing them at all
Still have to do the rear 6.5's, and then I have to get 4 x 1" dome tweeters and replace my 8" sub and center channel, that should keep me busy for a while. Gotta get this and the interior bulbs replaced with led's and then it's time to start working on the ack for the spring

sorry to hear that. (see this is why we need another discussion thread)
i just got everything done with the header. straight pipe welded on.
the header goes into a 2.5" flange into a 2.5" straight pipe into the GReddy EVO2 exhaust. it pulls like a bone stock RSX-S/Civic Si, which is fine with me.

Well I just finished the brakes everyone and I have to say they came out pretty descent! I used drilled/slotted zinc rotors along with posie quiet ceramic pads. I took some extra time and clean/sanded down the calipers and brought them back to life a little with some high temp black caliper paint. Before and after links are available for Next Thursday and Friday will be extremely busy days on the OG...New Silicone Radiator Hose in blue, front camber kit, controle arm w/Polly Bushings,Black Housing Lights with Slim H.I.D Kit 6000K and gonna keep the old set to retro on the side... Shocks and Spring I havent ordered yet but I really want to so all this can get instaled at the same time. Ive searched searched searched and am going with kong str.t wrapped in an Eibach Pro Kit...It's my everyday car and I live out in the bonnies down here so I want this suspension work to last. Hope this puts some motivation out there to some people to and avoid getting smashed into... I saw a 2.2 get totalled by a Old school Astro min van mind you thats the same van my parents had with me growing up as a kid. Lol I love it!

you spent all that money, and you're gonna get springs and shocks?
why not get coilovers? it's not like they're super expensive of anything and they offer the adjustability

Chris aren't all the 2.2, 2.3, 3.0 rotors same size or no? I knew the only way to upgrade to the 11.5 d was to get prelude rotors and legend calipers....My auction was for 3.0 rotors I thought. Or let me guess I got tricked on my auction and thought I got a good deal on 3.0 rotors but reallly these are 2.2's that can fit on a 3.0...Not real 3.0's that can't go onto a 2.2 and 2.3? Is it like 2.2/2.3 can fit on the 3.0 cause there smaller and not the other way around. If thats so I didnt search enough and realize it. And mitch this brake upgrade was 175 installed for everything and a front right axle boot. I haven't baught springs/shocks yet but I can get Koni str wrapped in the eibachs for 400 new with mounting plates and bushings...I feel thats a good deal and I dont wanna ride low low.

^after yu go low you'll always want to go lower, or ride better, just ask chris, he's had like 5 different suspension setups or something...
just throwing it out there as many people have bought springs and shocks and soon after wanted coilovers
but to each their own

I dropped mine all throughout highschool almost 3 in front and 2.75 in back and not the right way...My baby has had a beating and now I am paying for it on a brandnew front suspension years later. I could of just had a paint job and rims for what I'm spending on parts.I want comfort and with 18's it will look sick 1.5 drop.Lip kit is what really gets it going. Installing my smoked corners and black lights while drinking some green guys ~I might have extra headlights on BM if I do not retro fit them with Hi/Lo projectors. What I really wanna do is take my black euro's and retro projo's on them after I do a rough run around with these old lights. Any suggestions?

As long as its not whoring I will continue to post updates....Have alot of worked planned the next 2 weeks....I'll take nightt shots after H.I.D's go in today and 5 led refractors are in. I just finished driver side headlight just now and I find doing 1 side at a time opposed to taking the bumper off completely is much easier and keeps everything in line. 1 person job easily like this IMO. Took a vacume hose connector and wedged it under the bumper to hold the mounting bracket up tight and I could tighten the 3 screws with no troubles and not tring to hold the bumper in place either
