Anyone know if the passenger seat bolts up to the driver side bolts?

Anyone know if they are different?
Any reason why I wouldn't be able to put my pass. seat in the driver spot?

Naw, the motor's fine.
I was thinking of swapping out the driver seat for the passenger for weight reduction this weekend at the track.
The Driver seat is pretty heavy.
I'm going to look at it and see if i want to do that much work.
I want to see if I can lower my best time of 16.4

you do realise that the passener seats controls are on the other side so its gonna be a bitch trying to adjust your seat while sticking your hand between the seat and the middle console.

I was just going to mention that.

Also, the inside rail or line of bolts may be different since its lined up on opposite sides of the center console.

ya, i think its all in the rails.....since the left rail on the passanger side is used for adjustment, im sure its different from the right one.....there for it would work on the driver side........unless, adjustment is made off the left on the driver side too?!?!?! then again, maybe the "teeth" for adjusting movement are diff. since its mechanical?!?!?!?! food for thought......i restored an ol' vw bug this past summer and when i took my seats out to redo the interoir i had to make a quick run to lowes......i just through an egg crate in and MAN, you dont realize how much strain your seat takes.......i was holding onto that steering wheel for dear life without a back rest!!!!

Aren't you guys taking this weight reduction thing a little too seriously? I mean if you were to race on the street, I'm sure you wouldn't have this setup. If you were going for LOW numbers on the 1/4 mile like 13s or 12s, then maybe I can understand. But dude, you have a mid 16 second car. Not exactly meant to be a speed demon to be stripped so you can hit the ever elusive "low 16s".

So?
Your point being?

I'm not street racing. I'm merely thinking of some things just for the heck of it that may help reduce time.

Sure i don't have a nitrous breathing monster making 10 sec 1/4's. Last time I checked neither did anyone on the board. But I do have a N/A 4 cyl heavy car and I'm wondering what the best time I can get out of it on an official timed run...

Let's not start slinging mud in here, we're all adults (most of us).

If you think 12 sec is fast then someone else will say that 8 sec passes are where it's at. Big deal, someone's always gonna be faster.

Why do you think that there are different classes of cars?

Anyways. I'll do a little measuring. I know the controls may be difficult but I'm just wondering about a day's worth of fun at the track.

And yeah, I think a straight 16 run would be rather impressive especially with only the mods I have.
