Steering Wheel Vibration - when idling @ STOP

How much vibration do you feel on your '18 TLX steering wheel when you are stopped at a stop light? My steering wheel feels buzzy since new. I was a bit surprised feeling the buzz on a premium level car.

You have a L4 or a V6? It could be engine mounts.

According to Acura, it is normal for the 4cyl to vibrate at idle and they won't do anything about it. I have a 16' 4cyl, and they said that's how the car should be.

Same boat as you with a '15 TLX 4 Cyl. Seats vibrate as well. Completely unacceptable for a "luxury" car, yet normal according to Acura.

I have a 16 TLX 2.4 Tech and don't have any noticeable vibration at idle or otherwise, steering wheel or seats.

Lucky you. I pointed this out that some has that vibration, some don't. Dealership and hq said it is normal.

OP, go get your check out. Maybe your dealership willing to do something about it. Hopefully they find something.

I'll wait and see how it is after "break in" period. I was just comparing with my Hyundai Sonata which doesn't have noticable vibration like this.

Same here with a 2020 TLX

Just had nearly 500 miles in about a month. Noticed the vibration when idling at the very first few days. Quite obvious compared to my 2010 Pilot. More obvious when AC is on, even vibrating the seat. Thinking about going to the dealership tomorrow.

It could be the engine mounts binding; Acura has an engine neturalization procedure where they loosen the mounts, let the engine shift by putting car in Reverse and Drive numerous times and then retightening the mounts.

Honda 4 cylinders vibrate a bit more than other cars at idle. It’s been like this since the dawn of time. Combination of stiffer motor mounts and a lower idle speed. If you throw it into neutral, the idle speed increases and the vibrations disappear.

Not sure if switching the gear to neutral for idle is a good idea. I did that on my old 2001 civic (140k miles) for about a year, and then the transmission failed, which gave me the excuse to get an acura. I'm not saying throwing in neutral is the sole cause, but it might have contributed.
