I've always wondered why they built the ZDX off of the MDX platform instead of off the TL platform.
I think they'd have been able to make a hit out of it if people didn't view the ZDX as a less practical MDX.

I think the TLX looks great, and if the powertrains, chassis dynamics and interior are competitive I think it will be very successful. I'll probably give it serious consideration, especially if a 6MT arrives and the EPS is improved over my TSX.
My problem is that it's a little too big. We live in a townhouse in downtown Philadelphia, which has a tight garage and small driveway we can use as a parking space. My TSX is already the limit for width, and the TLX might be too long. And, of course, any car that large is not ideal for street parking in the city, which I do often. I'll check it out though.
Also, ideally I'd like to move to RWD. I hope Lexus drops a turbo four and 6MT into the IS (with F-Sport package of course), and/or that BMW fixes the disgracefully lifeless steering in the 3 Series and gives the 320i a slight power boost in the mid-cycle refresh. Either of those options would be appealing, especially the Lexus.
So, I haven't scratched it off the list, but the size and lack of MT option (at least for now) have made it less likely.

Or..."yes, but in the morning I will be sober, and you, good sir, still won't be able to spell".
To paraphrase Churchill.
I would say that having seen these TLX details it is more likely than before to replace my TSX off lease. Others are the Accord Sport, ATS, A3. Hopefully the TLX leases will be competitive.

^^ I agree that there is a market for vehicle similar to the ZDX but for the love of God, they need to execute it better than the last time.
