Acura Care for a 17 TLX?
Looking to lease a 17 TLX at 7500 miles/year
Dealer offered Acura Care for $1250
Would I be better off doing the maintenance myself and logging everything? Or should I roll the $1250 into the monthly payments?
What do you guys recommend?
Thanks!

Thought that was for coverage after the warranty expires. Wouldn't think that's necessary if you're doing 7500 miles per year on a lease.

I was planning to get this and been asking around for this as well. Acura Care is pretty much extended warranty up to 120k miles bumper to bumper warranty with some restrictions. I ended up not doing it, hoping it is not a mistake I just made lol. If you are leasing, I don't see why you need it. You already have 40k miles factory bumper to bumper warranty and 70k miles on power train, why waste $1250 if you don't go over those mileage. I'll do it if they will give it all back by the end of your lease if you don't use it, but even if you do file a claim, it still be cover by the factory warranty with a 7500 miles/yr.

On a note on the Acura Care. It usually has the number of years and max number of miles (whichever comes first), e.g. 6 years/100K miles. So when you ask us if $1250 for Acura Care is a good deal (if you were to buy it), we won't be able to answer because there is not enough info.

If you lease it, there is no need to Acura Care, which is a warranty. You could buy their prepaid maintenance package but I'd strongly advise against. Pay as you go is better.

Unless your lease is longer than 4 years or you are going to be driving more than 50K miles (not likely with a lease) there would be no reason to get an AcuraCare plan. Also as stated, you would need to tell us the particular plan you are looking at in terms of duration and mileage.
Not sure what kind of answers you are going to get but the out of pocket costs are going to vary widely based on the miles driven, whether is it is being dealer serviced (and dealer service costs vary from dealer to deaer) vs an independent shop and/or how much of a DIY'er the lessee is.
