The Centric/Stoptech facility utilizes a state of the art Friction Development Lab to test different pad materials. A one inch square section of pad/friction material is used as the test sample, and the sample is held at a specific normal force on a rotating brake drum to test for various speeds, temperatures, and braking forces.

 

This 3-in-1 grinder is used to grind slots, pad surfaces, and chamfer pad edges for variations on standard pad shapes. These variations can then be evaluated on Centric/Stoptech’s Brake Dynamometers for overall effectiveness.

Excelerate Performance has spent an extensive period of time working with Acurazine members and Acura vehicles on their XLR8 brake packages. We’ve tested, installed and used on our very own vehicles the brake components in these very packages.

These Acurazine brake packages are designed to improve braking performance and durability at a reasonable price. The packages in a nutshell include STOPTECH performance rotors, which are offered in premium blank, slotted, drilled, or drilled and slotted, and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The STOPTECH slotted rotors for the front of some Acuras are also a Curved Vane Power Alloy Disc, which helps reduce heat in the brake system and utilizes more durable alloys. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

We have a multitude of different packages available for the Acurazine community. Each package comes with front and rear STOPTECH rotors and STOPTECH Street Performance Pads. We also now offer packages with our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines included.

The Stoptech Street Performance Brake Pads that come with these packages are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads. Their Maximum Operating Temperature (MOT) is 1300°F which is higher than any other street pad currently on the market. Not only do they perform well in hot temperatures they also perform well in cold temperatures. We have plenty of customers who run these pads in sub-zero climates and have no problems.




Our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines are made up of teflon hose that has an extruded teflon core with an outer stainless steel braided wire covering. The ends are then permanently crimped on each end. Each line is then finished with a black PVC cover, which gives added protection from flying debris or further abrasion protection from the line rubbing on suspension components. All lines are DOT certified and manufactured for us by an industry expert who has 25 years of experience.

I need some help, I have 05 Acura RL calipers for my 04 Acura TL (automatic) and I would like to know which steel lines I need to buy from your web site in order to make it work. Its the last thing that I need so I can install them.

 

First 3 months had a squeaking noise when breaking but that has went away. Bought these about a year ago and they seem to get better by age. Even though they had a mix up in pricing (I had to spend more than I thought), I still had a great experience with XLR8!
