If anyone is in need of a tool set CT has some sales again.
Just replaced my missing set with the 179pc Black Chrome Stanley "Mechanics" Tool Set for $79.99, apparently I saved $270 on this bad boy.

Shell prompts for air miles after you pay----Esso and Petro prompt for the points card before paying. Just so you don't forget!

And yes I do believe used cars did go up... I tried looking for a 240 or a Miata for $1000 or under---impossible now. It's all 1500+ for a decent one when last year it was $800-1100!

im not sure if ct still offers it but, there is a kit that is a comprehensive set of tools you will need to work on your car. it came with pretty much everything. its a 400pc set with ratchets extensions, spark plug sockets the whole 9, nearly ever size of socket, impact and chrome. i bought it for 150, it was regularly 700. i just looked the the 400 piece set that ct does have is not the same as the one i have. they must have discontinued it. but, if you do see one of those buy it. they usually go on sale in the summer.

an equivalent set from snapon on matco would cost atleast 1000. plus any tool with a 58 part number from ct is eligible for warranty no questions asked.

Does anyone else get the itch for RWD irregardless of the winter drawbacks? I have a thing for late model G35 sedans.

^ I know what you mean. I use to be a little skeptical of RW winter driving but I've been doing so for the past few months with the work truck and I am no longer skeptical.

Kevon I told you so! lol

RWD does handle different in dry/summer weather.

In higher powered FWD cars like the TL, you get understeer and the car wants to steer straight as you hammer the gas - even in dry you notice it.

G35s are alright. Lots of torque compared to what our cars make. However, Nissan has had tremendous problems with the earlier VQ engines (burns lots of oil, many have had engines replaced) I believe its the engine from 2003 to 2006 models. They are also pigs on gas.

Ohh, I figured they would have had their engine issues ironed out by 2005/2006. I am aware of the early year problems but didn't know they lasted well into later years.

Sucks that we have limited used 4dr rwd MTs to choose from.

The world would be a much better place if every car was RWD.

I think they changed the engine version in either 06 or 07.

What about an E90 BMW 3-Series sedan?

Apparently they aren't all that bad.

I can't speak personally, but I have some friends who are happy with their E90/E92 and say maintenance isn't much worse.

Thought I'd mention if any GTA members are looking for a mint 4G TL, I've listed mine in the Cars for Sale section.

Good news is I'm getting a company vehicle (2014 Accord Sport in White Orchid Pearl), but I'm sad to be having to get rid of my TL. Its been the best car I've ever owned by far....

37,000km with 6 year, 100K Acura extended warranty. If you search Graphite Luster Metallic in the Photograph forum, you'll see my thread....

Got my rear lip painted last year from ASM to NBP.

Washed my car today and noticed that where the inside of the lip lines up with the back of tire is a chipped up from the road sand this winter. Basically where the rear mudflap used to be.

How should I fix this? I'm thinking I should just rattle can that area flat black and cover it with some 3m clear material or just wrap it with some gloss back vinyl.

Thoughts?

Hey, getting my car re-tinted. Got quoted $140 for the removal of existing tint.
Does that sound right?

Sounds about right.

Or if you wanted to go really dark you can just have it installed over the existing tint.

If you have an 04-06 TL, you should do the switchblade mod.

Cost me under $40

They're probably the only shop I'd go back to again to do tint.
The RFD'ers also go with them - they usually have a group buy going on.

You're not getting ripped off by them.
