Want to install Springs.

I have a set of H&R springs that I want to install on an '08 RL. Anyone know of any reasonable places where I can get them done?

ok just asking because most poeple use aftermarket. A lot of people on the zine were telling me to use aftermarket not oem.

im still guessing on what i should do either use my oem or aftermarket shocks/struts. if you do just use oem shocks, post a pic up i would like to see the turn out.

Wont really make a difference in terms of how it will turn out. What you will be or should be worried about is how long the OEM or aftermarket shock will last with an aftermarket (lowered) spring. Ride quality might also be at stake.

If you have time, DIY.

If not, call around.
I'm not from Toronto, but from what I know, most people on here will tell you to visit a shop that charges a lot.

I find best mechanics are the ones that worked at a shop but now work from their home.
Usually these mechanics are found by "word of mouth".
There's a member on here that charges $50 an hour, which is a super price.
I would contact him.

Here in Ottawa, I have a guy that works from his home, used to work at a shop for 25 years. Changed my front engine mount for $40 while other shops were asking $100-$120.

Ya, I called around and went to a couple shops and got some quotes that were not what I was looking to pay esp after looking at the DIY. the best quote was $600+ and then extra for alignment....ya dont get me started...

I msged the mechanic in his thread here and emailed him so I'll see if he responds.

Average price should be around $250 to change suspension.
$600 is something else...maybe they give you a massage while you wait, I don't know lol

I decided to DIY after hearing it costs $250.

I changed suspension on my TL twice. It's mostly a 1 man job and should not take more then 3 - 4 hours even with jack stands on the floor. A second set of hands do come useful at times. However I do not recommend you using the stock shock unless you wanna do it all over again or pay someone in a few months or a year tops. I did shocks and springs the first time then changed to coil-overs. Save your self some money, labour and headaches and do it right the first time around. GET COIL-OVERS!

If I had 2G's I would probably just save more and go all out with air setup. You want to chip in?!?

It was just a recomendation from past personal experience. Here's my chip in ... your OLD OEM STOCK SHOCKS will not last long once you lower it!
