Headlight help!

Hey guys,

I just got a quick question, of which I believe I know the answer to. I have a 2007 Acura RL

My passenger side headlight is flickering a bit but is not going out. Sometimes it is when the car is idle, it never seems to be an issue when the car is in motion. Also sometimes (very rare) when I hit a bump both lights seem to go completely off.

Usually I have my lights on auto but I recently turned that off, today when I turned my lights on manually they were both sort of pink then went bright almost instatly. I have never had this happen before when the lights are on auto. I am told when the lights go pink it is because they are about to expire, same with the flickering but what is odd is that the driver side does not flicker at all.

The battery is new I purcahsed it in July, but is a NAPA battery so I am not sure if this could be the cause. I know the RL is power hungry and a lot of the issues stem from a bad battery.

Thanks for any help you guys can give! Also I am glad to have met an AcuraZine member who told me about the regions! I never seen it before. I look forward to meeting more members!

It could be your ballast / igniter for your hids.
Just pop the trunk and move the wires a little bit and see if it might just be a lose connection. If you can switch up the bulbs from the other side and shake it up again. If its still flickering then its your ballst igniter. If not it could be your bulbs.

Thanks!

Does anyone think it can be the fuse? I am going to buy new ones and see before all this started happening I was mucking around with the fuses and I do remember taking the one out for the passenger low beam. From what I recall I took out the fuse but the lights were still functioning (I took the fuse out with the car off and lights off as well.) Just a thought before I throw money into the wrong issue.

I checked the fuse and it is not blown and seems to be making proper contact. I will have to check at night time to see if the flicker is gone, I tried in the day and all looked okay but I think the truth will come after 8 pm.
