I don't drive a full tank just on the highway lol
I usually reset the MID when I fill up the tank, and go on the highway. This is when I get 6 L/100 KM. It eventually rises up to 7, though.
The TLs are AWESOME on gas on the highway. It sucks for city, though.
I'm not gonna take a picture of my MID the next time it says 6 L/100 KM, but take my word or leave it

I do the same, I reset it once I fill up. Then once I'm actually entering the highway I reset the MID again.
Usually I try to fill up at a Shell [V-Power] or Petro [94] that's close to the highway. That way I waste less time travelling at slower speeds.
Once I'm on the on-ramp I'm already travelling 80KM/H and once I'm on the highway I'm already doing 100-120KM/H--unlike all these slow-pokes who DANGEROUSLY enter the highway at 40-70KM/H.
Then when I'm at highway speeds I'll hit cruise control and let things take over from there. When I'm going up/down a hill I'll take cruise control off---I also apply zero acceleration when going down hills [to maintain speed--although sometimes I lose speed].
in my 07 5at type s the best i got was 635km to almost empty when i drove to nyc. That was when the mid said 8l per 100km.
On average i get 11L / 100 km with spirited driving highway and city. 50/50
So about the same as the op. 440 - 500 a tank
