Best place to buy Winter Tires

I live in Kitchener, Ontario and I'm looking for places that I can get good, but decent price on winter tires. My budget is $750. I got a quotes from Canadian Tire and McArthur Tire and its around $260/each. I have emailed Tires 23, and waiting for their quotes.

So I was wondering does anyone know what local tire shops that I can get a good set of winter tires in the $750 range. I'm willing to travel as far as Toronto to buy them.

Tirerack

Im not sure if this is something your willing to do but I ordered via tirerack without any problems whatsoever - it was fast delivery. Came home to find them on the doorstep about one week after the order. Their prices are hard to beat - even after the custom fees and exchange etc.

P235/45R17. But since I don't have brembo brakes I'm able to downsize to P215/35R16.

Go with TireRack for sure. For a little bit more than what your being quoted you could possibly get a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2's. They are definitely worth the premium given the harsher conditions we've had over the last week or so.

Best to buy from the US if you can, tires are so much cheaper there. I got a set of the General Altimax Artic for just over $500.

Is that with 4 steel rims balanced and mounted, or just the tires?

I paid $1300 but I got Michelin Primacy Alpins and I went to an Acura dealership because all the local tire shops were sold out.

I just put on the Alpins as well bloody awesome tires paid 1300 for mount/balancing through active ross n green, a good alternative which is cheaper but more effort is going south of the border to purchase and mount there you'd be able to get better tires for your price range

Go buy in the US if possible, given the current exchange rate.
If you were to buy local, if you were strictly looking for price...go to Costco.

If you don't have a membership...in many cases pay the $50 to enroll and you would probably still be better off than to buy at your local stores.

Yes, it comes with 4 steel rims, balanced, and mounted. Tax and labour included.

Well, I decided to go to Tire 23 their service was great. Took 40 mins to install the winter tires. I can't believe it was only $760 with tax and labour included.

That is a fantastic deal....

Steelies are usually $50 so $200 there
Mount and balance is $20 a wheel minimum so $80
the labor .25 Hours for swap $25

That's kike $450 for the tires and they aren't even some crap tire brand.
