94 or 91 - shell 91 or petrocan 94
is it me or does petrocan 94 have benefits to the turbocharged RDX? ive switched to 94 and it seems more lively (i moved residence and now there's more convenient petrocan stations with 94 around vs before). i used to fillup with shell at 91 since that's the closest to my house then (eg. 0.5 kms away on the way home)
i know acura stated recommended minimum at 91 octane, but what do you guys use?
thanks

I usually fill my Supra with shell's 91 because it has 0% ethenol, and as far as I know it's the only gas station around here that has that.
On top of that, it's a little harder to find the 94 now that all the Sunoco's are gone and only half of them kept the 94, plus I think it's also more expensive.
I dunno specifically what your compression is like on your RDX, but if it's pretty high then you likely would notice a difference from the higher octane. If it recommends 91 then you aren't damaging your engine putting it in or anything, but you might get a little more power out of the 94. Again, I don't know your engine so I'm not sure...because I see a lot of people doing stuff like put 94 in their 1990 Accords or whatever because they think they're going to get some power gain when they won't see any difference with anything above 87 because that's all the engine needs.

Esso
I find both my Element and CL-S start better with ESSO gas for some reason so I run regular in my Element and Esso 91 in my CLS. When I first got my CL-S I filled it up with Sunoco 94 and it hesitated to start so I then tried Esso 91 and it fired up right away and still does so I never put anything else in it now, oh yeah I also tried Shell but same thing happened, hesitated to start.
That's more than likely just coincidence I'd say lol, Esso used to own our fuel pumps at the airport I work at and when we'd get fuel loads from them the sheet that came with it had a Shell logo in the corner lol, they all get their gas from the same place, I guess what they add to it is what makes the difference. All I know is the Shell 91 is much cleaner.
