Man it sucks because my shorty has to work New Years Eve till 3 in the afternoon
then get up New year's day at 5 to go in at 6 am. (She works at her local Hospital for another week then school starts again)
because she has to get up so early I'll probably take her out to dinner and then come home and watch South Park marathon

 

i'm gonna be alone too, but going to a party with some friends so we'll see what happens there

My fiance had to work that night until 11.. his friends were having a party, but the house it was at didnt have much parking and Since my fiance would have to be there later anyway with his car, I figured I would be nice and not clutter the driveway.. So i asked the friend who was throwing the party if he would pick me up ( i asked him at 3pm that day).

He was all like oh sure no problem!!! ill pick you up at 10, thanks for taking the parking problem into consideration.

10pm comes around. nothing. Jason (his friend) is usually late for everything so i give him time. So I go ahead and crack open some alcohol while I wait.

10:30 Nothing. So i call over to the house, and you can hear the party going on in the background.. Jason answers and im like, 'did you forget someone?'
'Who the hell is this??? '
'Rachael, you know you were supposed to get me at 10?!'
'Oh damn.. I forgot.. I cant get you now, my car is blocked in the driveway'
'Can you have someone else get me then?'
'uh.. yeah.. ill find someone. theyll be there in a few'

11:15pm. Got a good buzz going while Im waiting and watching tv. Phone rings. Its my fiance's other friend James.
'Hey are you and Joe going to come to the party or what?!?!'
'Joe is at work, and someone was supposed to pick me up 40 minutes ago.'
I give him a brief explanation of previous phone conversation with Jason.
'Oh damn.. that sucks.. Ill see what I can do to help you, Ill have someone come get you'

11:55pm Joe gets home to find me drunk off my ass laying on the stairs staring at the ceiling.. he went to the party after work and found out I wasnt there.. His friends were all like well youre here now, and shes not, just have fun. He told them to all fuck themselves and came home.

12:00am Get to ring in the new years listening to my fiance and his mom screaming at eachother (another long story i wont go into). this probably explains why 2003 SUCKED.

(and after all this, other people said that neither jason nor james ever asked ANYONE to come get me. they just hung up the phone and continued to party)

Being alone on New Years Eve sux. I think its much worse than even Valentines Day. However I won't be alone I have a girl.

 

I can't remember the last time I was even awake at 12:00 on New Year's. It's never been a big thing to me, since I kinda hate crowds of people, particularly drunk idiots. I'm bartending this year, but I'll likely be out before 12:00. I've been invited to a little soiree, and if I feel better than I have felt the last few weeks, I might go. Gametime decision.
