What should I feed her?

I am going out tonight with this girl I have known of for about a year but just recently talked to her. I told my mom since she liked my ex a lot and didn't want me to break up with her but now its time to move on. So she said "Dont take her out to eat anywere expensive or she is going to expect it all the time."

So what should I feed her? I was thinking Cheesecake Factory...

Don't spend too much but don't take her to a chain. That and nix sushi...to messy for a first date.

Definitely find an independant restaurant. Now what's your night going to be like. Quiet and romantic or looking to have some fun, bar hopping and clubbin? That should help you decide what type of restaurant you should go to.

Cheesecake isn't too expensive..I think sushi is actually a good idea. It's unique, delicious and if she doesn't like raw fish, she can always get a teriyaki bowl.

Go to Shiso behind the Kash n Karry by USF. Or if you're looking to keep her expectations low, hit up Skipper's.

sushi can be a bit expensive, though. I say take her for BBQ. if it goes bad, at least you had a good meal, and if it goes good you can help lick the extra sauce from her fingers.

No idea what is local to Tampa, might as well make a decision based on cost if that what youre worried about for the future. $40-50.00 without wine seems reasonable to me for a first date.

CF is actually pretty inexpensive for the meal size portion you get. You can get a nice filling meal with leftovers, depending if ur a hog or not, for like $12.99. Just make sure you get some cheese cake!

I've learned to keep it simple and inexpensive for the first few dates until you figure out what she likes to eat.

Not a big fan of doing the typical dinner-movie type thing on the first date.

Well i find that the dinner is just fine, but going to see a movie and not being able to talk to her and get to know her is a reason i dont do a movie on the first date.

Actually, I'd think CF is a good place for a first date, unless you know she likes something in particular...they have EVERYTHING there...if you can't find something to eat there, you have no hope.

A movie date isn't bad if you play it right. I had a first date with a girl a little while ago that sorta had to be a movie date. The trick to avoiding that "sit in the dark and don't talk" thing? Show up 20 minutes before the movie starts. The theater is a surprisingly good place to talk when the film isn't actually playing.

Yeah im not saying that the first date movie is a bad thing. But if i go to meet a girl i havent talked to a lot before id like to talk to her some and get to know her. Talking before is good, which is why it goes from dinner->movie so there is time before to chat.

Best is if you can get her back to your place to watch a movie instead. Then you have all the privacy you want
