Valentines Day

Not to early to start talking about Valentines Day. Before you know it, the made-for-Hallmark holiday will be upon us and you will be scrambling to find something to give to your "significant other" (don't want to make WStevens feel bad). So, what are all of you doing for the occasion?

My idea (and very overplayed) is to put a path of pink rose petals around my gf's room leading so some sort of gift (dont know what yet). Probably take her out to eat for dinner. What do you think?

Like I said before I perform a love song and give the girl chocolates for valentines. But then again I am a pretty nice guy.

My bf isn't coming to see me until early march so we're celebrating valentines day a little late but at least we get to spend it together We'll probably have a nice dinner and if I can find a reservation stay the night somewhere overlooking the ocean

I have everything planned out already....I'm doing like a whole "12 days of Valentines" and everyday I'm doing something sentimental every day. For valentines day, he's going to come home from work to a candlight dinner of either steamed lobster or beef wellington and oysters rockefeller with tiramisu for dessert and a bottle of Dom Perignon and some other treats. Damn I spoil my man.

As for your rose petals idea, it would be nice to come home to after dinner. I don't think its too played out, considering most girls find that incredibly romantic. Go for it!

I'll probably be driving (if not driving then flying) up to Mass to see my gf during that weekend. My gift is me going up and attending her performance. She's taking me to dinner.

Nice dinner and a simple gift/card. Maybe some earrings. Interested in gift suggestions in the $200-500 range.

Well, different girls like different things--I like a nice home-cooked meal and a handmade card with my three-year old's scribbles on it. If you preface it by saying "I knew you were interested in [________], so I got you a [_________]," usually she will like it because it shows you were thoughtful. Examples:

1.) "I knew you were on the Liberator website 40 times today, so got you The Wedge/Ramp combo."

2.) "I knew you were looking for a nice pair of kitten-heeled sandals, so I got you a $1000 credit to Manolo Blahnick."

or even

3.) "I know you love sushi, so I scoured the South Street Seaport fish markets to bring you this nice raw tuna."

and so on and so forth

I'm going to try and take him on a few test drives. The last time he went he got really really excited about it. In the evening we'll stay in and probably watch something like Romeo Must Die (his favourite movie). I dunno what's in store for me, but if I get flowers I'll puke.

One of my favorites too--I think it may have been one of the first U.S. films for which Cory Yuen did fight scene choreography.

I have a business engagement on the evening of Valentine's day, but - after my wife spent three weeks in a coma and seven weeks in inpatient rehab, every day is Valentine's Day for me. So damn happy she's alive, that just earmarking one day to note it just doesn't cut it - but will probably scour her favorite bookstore to find a title she hasn't read yet.
