Should I ask for it back?

Long story short, my ex took my sweatshirt from me while we were dating and I let her. I told her then that I wanted it back eventually but nothing specific. Well we broke up before I got it back and now I havent talked to her in about a month. I still want my sweatshirt back but think its kind of a dick move just to talk to her and ask for my sweatshirt. I think she thinks that I gave it to her but first of all I didnt, and second of all its an XL and its way to big for her anyway. Am I wrong or should I just ask for it?

She probably used it to check the oil in her car. Just let it go - it's just a sweatshirt. A matter of fact, go out and buy a new one for yourself - you know, for a fresh start.

sorry for the repost I thought it didnt post the first time.
And I'll be pissed if she threw it away, it was like 2 months old at the time and a gift from a friend. I suppose its not the end of the world if I dont get it back but Im poor and in college and dont want to spend $50+ trying to replace the only hoody that I had.

Just ask for them back. I asked an ex to give me a couple of fraternity t-shirts back. I ended up getting them back washed and folded.

doesnt that kinda make you think why she went out of her way to wash and fold them?

*gasp* Some people actually do laundry! Why not give 'em back that way - it's the respectable thing to do.

To the poster: If you really want the sweatshirt back, then ask for it. I don't see why she'd want to keep it (unless to spite you). If it means so much....just ask. Otherwise, forget about it, and don't give someone an item that means so much to you next time.

It was a mutual break up. She wanted to stay friends, but I only stayed friends with her long enough to get my stuff back.

I wouldn't bother getting it back bro. I had the same situation alittle while ago, and I did the "dick move" and took my sweatshirt back. But then I could never really wear it again, it reminded me of that skank. Now, I honestly don't know where the hell it is

Is it really worth it? Just go buy a new one that says something incredibly witty like "Federal Booty Inspector."

This sounds like what will probably end up happening so I guess I wont be asking for it back. I still think however that she should have offered it back to me. If I do see her wearing it however Im going to bitch slap her and take it back.

1. Why do you want it back? was it sentimental, did it cost a lot of money, etc...

2. are you just trying to "get back at her"?

IMO if you asked nicely in a calm sitch, she would give it back to you...(unless she just wants to hurt you in any she can, even if it's over a dumb sweatshirt.....and if her feelings are hurt that bad, you deserve it....unless she's the retarded psycho , and in that case, is it worth fighting over a sweatshirt?)

think about it....

just say f-it, ask for it back nicely, if that doesnt work, tell her off, and move on, buy new sweatshirt....it's just clothing in the end, it happens

It was a gift from a friend, to buy another one would cost atleast 50 bucks probably more along the lines of $70. It is my schools(u of a) hoody so she most likely wont be wearing it. and if you see my other posts on her you will find that Ive realized that long distance relationships dont work with chicks that still have issues with their exes cheating on them. I guess I was just the rebound which sucks but whatever. I honestly think I did everything to try and keep the relationship going and it felt like I was the only one. as a result of this relationship Im turning into an asshole when it comes to girls and suprisingly it works alot better. Chivalry is dead cause women killed it. It was a year between the last guy and me supposedly but whatever. Im drunk right now and going to bed. fuck her.

Well, dont go writing off women all the way, but....I'LL AGREE, chivalry is dead, and most women did kill it. you did the right thing; got drunk and said fuck her.
