Send Flowers?

Alright, heres the situation: I broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years on Tuesday. It wasn't a nasty breakup, and we are going to try to remain friends (I still care about her alot). I kind of have a dillema though. Valentines Day is Monday. I was thinking about sending her flowers to her work (she has her own business). Would this be appropriate? I don't want to get back together, and I don't want to send that message, I just want her to know that I still care about her. I'm afraid that if I don't even acknowledge her on V-day, she might take it the wrong way? So what would you do?

I think flowers is a bit much. Send a card, if you must send something. If you insist on sending flowers, don't send red roses. If you insist on sending roses, send white (or is it yellow) ones to denote friendship only.

But the bottom line is, don't send flowers in the first place.

Big NO, IMO. You're going to send alot of mixed signals there.

with others. depends on the breakup. Also, if you want to get back together, avoid the dead kitten.

Yellow is for friendship, but I wouldn't do it.

It would be a nice gesture, like 1/2 dozen yellow or pink roses would be fine, or tulips or something. Just promise me you won't ever send carnations... those are the ugliest damn things lol.

It all depends on what your intent is...

if you want to convey the whole valentines day message just as FRIENDS, then i would recommend that you go to 123greetings.com and send her an e-card that shows two FRIENDS (who are not lovers) caring about each other...

i think that would be the best option...however let's say if she doesn't check email and she isn't into that email crap, and if you really want to get her flowers, get like a boquet of normal flowers (nothing romantic)...

however, in doing this, it will be very difficult to NOT give any signals...if you had more of a reason to break up with her, then she might think "ohh is he reconsidering"...it will give her a lot of mixed signals...

I knew it was only a matter of time before you reared your ugly head in here ...btw, I've already told Adrienne congrats, so I'll say the same to you, CONGRATULATIONS!!! She wants to go to Hooters to celebrate, so I'll have a pitcher of beer in your honor!

Oh, and about the two weeks thing, I don't think its gonna happen brother. This is not the same as when you were here. Remember how I was all calm and collected when talking about it? Well, it really wasn't official last time. This time, it was for real, we actually came out and said it. You know what you were going through a few weeks ago? Well thats how I've been these last few days. It sucks, but its the only way we'll both be happy in the long run.

Roses wouldn't be to Valentine-y? I was thinking daisys, but those are her favorite flowers so that might be worse than sending roses. Maybe just a bouqet of random flowers That is IF I send her any at all

I say send the flowers, nothing romantic... yellow roses or tulips would be just fine. Make sure you keep the message in the card friendly and just leave it at that. Nothing wrong with that.

Well on a side note, AJ says send flowers as well

I hear ya, esp. since you don't think you love the girl after 3 years and have never spoken the words. I just think you'll end up hittin it again :p

remember, the ultimate concern in ANY relationship is your happiness. Gotta be stubborn but if you aren't happy it ain't worth trying to just make the other person happy.
