if this is to be kept to a minimum, is there a "getting to know" the chick period? If so, when is that accomplished? On a date? I'm finding it difficult to gauge interest right off the bat, the longer I talk to someone, the easier it is for me to figure it out...

Oh, and if she accepted your offer to go out for coffee/movie/something, she's probably interested.

First dates are great to get to know someone.. Talk over dinner, a drink or a cup of coffee... If you talk too much on the phone.. it will leave you to have nothing to say on the date... then you look BORING!!!
