I know I have an active thread already going, but this isn't for me really (I'm sure this might give ideas to others though).

My friend has been with a girl for 5 years (since they were 17, now 22). They have broken up /'took a break' a few times over shit and at least the last two times it's been because he treats he like shit sometimes. Anyway, that is an entirely long story, but I'm trying to help him out as best as I can.

My question is what can he do to make her miss him? The obvious (only?) answer I've given him is to give her time, don't call her or see her, let her be the one pursuing you.

Seriously....if you are a good friend, tell him to move on, and stop playing head games.

There is a reason they broke up. And whether he wants her back or not, trying to mess with her can back fire. If he really still wants her back and he feels that if she misses him she will come back, what happens if she totally rejects it and doesn't give in? He will feel 10X worse than he does now.

I think he should move on with his life. Tell him to get out there and realize that he is only 22. Have fun. Party. Meet new women. Do anything to leave the ex behind.

 

If she doesn't miss him on her own then it seems kind of pointless, and a relationship probably isn't worth pursuing

Yeah I know that. I told him the only way she might start to miss him is if he left her alone, didn't call her etc...which he can't seem to do. I was just wondering if anyone had any other advice.

 

What if she wouldn't call him back because she is too stubborn?
