I am a few days away from starting a long dist relationship with my G / F of 6mos. She is moving to Denver from Phx to go to school. I really like this girl and we consider each other "the one". We currently have a very strong relationship and I trust her and she trusts me. I just don't know what to expect once she moves. I plan on seeing her at least once a month, but am scared of the obvious stuff like cheating etc. on both our parts. How have you guys handled this?

Bottomline, if you care this much about the girl and you were already thinking about denver, and getting out of PHX. Why not just go, see if you can find a job and live an equal or better life. And be with her if that's what makes you happy. Also learn how to read posts :P

no that's about what mine does.
I go to her house about 2-3 times a week.
i call a long distance relationship at least 1/2 day drive.

Now Long Distance relationships. The longest distance relationship i had was with a girl in Southern Mississippi. we dated like 1.5 or 2 months. I made 2 trips to Mississippi and that was pretty much it.
I met her at the International Waterball Compitition.(My team was one of 5 selected from the state of Ohio). and seeing how i was the youngest guy on the team(and only unmarried) guy on my team and it was a contest for all firefighters. All these girls were down there. She was okay looking just Fridays, and Saturdays blew because when all your buds are with their girls you really can't be because they are so far away you can't get home to take care of business the next day.

 

Long distance relationships are tough man. I did it for over a year and things got pretty bad. But that's just my experience. If both parties are mature and understanding. I believe it's possible for it to work out.

 

there not hard as long as you can stay in touch and not get bored with them, ive been in one for almost a year and she movin down in june, so as long as you can stay in touch and trust that she wont do anything bad..then itll all work out, if its not meant to be, then the long distance will determine your will power...

 

6-hour train ride...saw each other sporadically while we both were going to school

even when we both were home, it was an hour+ car ride...the first 3 weeks we were going out, she lived in the same town but moved way out on the Island...was only able to see her maybe once a week

 

Easiest way to pull off a relationship like this is to basically become very lax and passive about everything.


Don't ask, don't tell. You can still get laid an shit, but don't ask her wtf she's been doing either. The most important part to this relationship is that you continue the healthy mental aspect but don't forget your natural drive to have sex.

Not letting yourself have fun is always the problem to long distance relationships.
