I just thought it was very interesting that there is a very high percentage of females that have 26+. Its much higher than on the male side which is surprising (I would have thought it would be the other way around).

And you wouldn't care that Brad Pitt probably has slept with 100+ women. Compare him to a nerdy guy who has slept with 0 women. You'd jump in Brad's bed before he can say, "who the hell are you?" So I don't think a guy sleeping with 50 women is cool in itself but the reasons and personality traits that enable him to be a "stud" are things that our culture celebrates (money, fame, looks, charm).

Good or bad, women are still the "guardians of their carnal treasure" (from Win a Date w/ Tad Hamilton), and men are Johnny Appleseed, trying to fertilize America, or at least plant seedless apples.

It's because females are the gatekeepers since they can get it from anyone they want any night, but only guys that have "game" can do that. Females that get around are thought to be more disgusting than guys that get around because all a girl has to do is not say 'no' and she's getting some. Guys actually have to do work to get some so there's more glory in that.

Because a decent looking girl can walk up to virtually any guy out there, say "let's have sex in the back seat of my car" and get it done. Hell, she doesn't have to do anything - A girl can sit in the corner of a bar and let the men come to her. If a guy spits a line like that he's gonna get slapped and turned down. The man with 50 partners had to work for them. The chick just had to sit there. The guy who can get with a lot of women is looked up at by his peers for doing something they percieve as difficult. The girl does... well, nothing special.

You could take a supply/demand economics view. A girl with 50 partners is an easy catch, anyone can get her - she is of a lower value than the chick who's been with 2 guys in her whole life.

The natural male instinct is to spread his seed as far and wide as possible. A woman can't spread anything but her legs and VD. Her job is to be selective about the seed she accepts. The male instinctively knows this, and knows that a woman who is more selective is going to have selective offspring as well, and therefor prefers this trait in a woman.

So you are saying that if you met a girl w/ 100+ sex partners you'd think she was the coolest woman in the world? Women's rights and sexual empowerment and all that good stuff aside, really, what would you think? Yes, there is a double standard, and that's because there are 2 sexes in the world, male / female. We have different standards for young and old (can't drink under 21, can't drive under 16), we have different standards for education (doctors have to have lots of schooling).

The reality is that it really takes a certain behavior pattern for a woman to rack up that many sex partners and we as a society doesn't particulary like it. Guys don't like it because it means that the girl is permiscuous, possibly carrying something nasty, and generally all things that you just don't look for in a life partner. Where as a guy who racks up the mileage has the things that the woman is looking for, money, fame, looks, charm, personality, etc. You honestly tell me that you'd take a ugly, poor, dorky, nerd over your current husband who seems to look like a pretty cool guy. I'm sure you didn't think twice about how many girls he's slept with in the past as long as he is faithful to you now. I don't think most guys will be comfortable and trust a girl who he finds out had sex with 100+ frat boys during college.

I guess the thing that bothers me is that guys BEG for sex, get pissed when a girl doesn't give it up, call her a tease, etc, but if she DOES give it up, she's a slut. It's like, as females, we can't win with you guys. I've always tried to adhere to the "angel on the street, whore in the bedroom" mentality, personally, because I think that gives me the best of both worlds... i.e. I get respect in public, but I still get to be an animal when I'm alone with my man.

It's like.... okay some of you know that I lost my virginity in a date rape. Classic date rape scenario: he was 2 years older than me, I was a senior in HS and had known him since he went to my school. We started working together and I guess we sorta started dating then. We were together for like 6 weeks and I knew he was getting frustrated because I hadn't slept with him, but I hadn't slept with ANYBODY at that point and I wasn't really sure I wanted him to be the first. So he roofied me one night at a party and the rest is history.

But quite possibly the worst part about it was that afterwards, when anyone asked him why we broke up, he told them it was because I was too slutty for him. So he basically got the last laugh TWICE, in that he quite literally stole my virginity and then ruined my reputation afterwards. So I couldn't win by holding out on him, and I couldn't win after he got his, either.

I guess I eventually got the "last laugh" though because last time I saw him he was a bagboy at the grocery store, and then I learned a year later that he died of a cocaine overdose. Gee, what a shame...

I will admit though that, like I said earlier, the majority of my "6-10" partners occurred in the months immediately following that incident... I became the classic case of a girl who loses respect for herself and decides to sleep with anyone who asks... within reason, of course.

No i would not marry a hooker/porn star. personally for me they wouldnt even get a second thought from me. there is nothing wrong with low number for guys or girls. more people they slept with just shows how that person really are and how they view certain things in life. not how hard they worked to become a whore.

As I said, I never said it was fair, just that there IS a double standard since men set it. Add to that mix the fact that men can have sex pretty easily with little emotional attachment but most girls get attached to guys they have voluntary sex with, and you get more reasons why it's hard to play the sex game for a woman in a man's world. But I think both sides have it rough. The guy who can't get any isn't much better off than the girl who gets sexually played with by guys. Just be glad that you have a good guy and hold on to him.

I can see where you're coming from with that, but each opinion is situationally applied. A girl who doesn't want to have sex is not being a tease - a girl repeatedly giving a guy all the right signs and then saying "no" is a tease. We can't STAND that shit. I will say this though, for the guys at my school... there was some girl that would give blow jobs to anyone who knew to ask for one... I knew of a girl who had the LOWEST self esteem in the world. I imagine she had some father issue, or abuse issue. Bad stuff. I think it is societal issues. There's too much of a pleasure now without consequences mentality. You know the gay community deals with that on a pretty high level too.
