They jam a big ass Q-Tip up inside your penis and it feels like you penis is on fire and when they pull it out, you have to immediately go take a gigantic piss. That Q-tip is better than the alternative though, especially if you're burning down walls evertime you pee. Go on in and get that test and ease your mind.

 

It sucks, but the piece of mind is worth it. Plus it only stings for a little bit.

From what i've heard only the "free clinic" type of places do the qtip -> urethra thing. What they look for can be found with a blood/urine test, but the qtip is cheaper.

Unfortunately, my doctor said that a guy may be a carrier but still may not show any symptoms so the only way to be sure is to have the girl tested as well. The guy is usually advised to get treatment if the girl is positive for STD even if he is diagnosed to be negative.

 

I get one done every couple years. Hey, sometimes you have to use a public toilet. I leave the country a couple times a year. I play it safe. Especially with all those hookers I do.

Still clean to date.

 

I wish I had known this before I went to the free clinic. I would have gladly paid a few bucks to avoid the qtip treatment.

 

so would I get same result whether I do qtip or blood/urine test? I've been thinking about it but shoving qtip down my penis isn't something I would want to get it done especially when i'm paying for it to get that done..ewww

 

kudos to you for wanting to get this done! i really think it's important. you can always try calling your local health department and just ask how the process of this goes and what your options are. girls have it alittle easier. we just ask to get checked when we go for our annual every year. ...might as well while he's down there!

I give blood pretty regularly and I figure they'll let me know if I'm infected. Before anyone flames about me contaminating the pool, I use protection so I figure the only way is if something when wrong with the product. I give blood like 3-4 times a year so I figure I'm in the clear.

 

Yes, it's a scary process even if you have no reason to believe you have anything. The 5 times I've been tested (for the serious incurable STD's), I was nervous all week waiting for the results. I felt like a wreck, even though I KNEW I didn't do anything dangerous. 5 negative results later, it's still not any easier. I was even so psycho that I thought that maybe the 99% confidence HIV test was wrong twice in a row, so I got tested again and again. Don't let your mind spiral out of control.

I've decided on sex in committed relationships only, and only with protection on top of that (that was a couple years ago). But then again, I have to worry more about STD's than you guys do. But that doesn't excuse comments like JesusJuice's doctor made. You guys have the right to be tested also.

 

I got swabbed yesterday...lets just say it wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but atleast I'll know! My doctor said I don't have any symptoms, so he said I shouldn't worry, the he shoved a q-tip in my dickhole!!!!
