g/f with bi-polar
okay my g/f has bi-polar. I love her to death(we've been going out for 6 months) but it seems like when everything going fine and everything great. but then next day I call to talk to her I'm an jack@ss and she's depressed. she was really grumpy and ripping me last night(over her school's server being down)(which i have no control over). She's on pills for this disorder but just it's frustrating. because I love her so much but it hurts when she lays into me over something stupid like the school's server being down(because she had to do this project at the last minute and she was wigging out about it).
now she's depressed because I talked to her about what happened last night(with the deal with the server) . and she's so depressed she wants to die. I'm like good lord it's not that big of a deal.
but usually she isn't that bad. I'm just frustrated because I'm used to hanging out with guys who unless you do something stupid(like tear up their ride, or bang their g/f) they're cool to you.
so give me you comments guys.
BTW: I'm rocking it out to Guns and Roses "Every Rose has it's thorn"

never had a g/f with bipolar but I did have a research assistant work for me that had it. Let me tell you it was a nightmare. My job requires high attention to detail because we work with complex statistical models. Anyway, I got to were I knew what I would get out of him the second he walked in the door each morning. If he was down and depressed, he slowed down and put out good work but at a slow pace. But if he was manic, he flew through the work making a shitload of errors. He confided in me several times about his struggles to find the right medication/right dosage. I felt bad but ultimately my ass was on the line to produce quality research. Ultimately, I had to let him go. Interestingly, he ended up marrying a good friend of mine and is now divorced after two years. He couldn't ever commit to anything.
I would hate to be in your situation. My guess is the right medication would really help, but it will be a life-long struggle for her.

buddy, i went out with a girl with bipolar for three years. I love(d) her to death. But, i couldn't take it anymore. Don't do it. It sounds shitty but, back out. You wouldn't buy a car with somehthing you know is wrong. I thought I could handle it. We went through a lot of shit that i will never share with anybody....but i finally burnt out. The guilt kills me whenever i think about it, but i think i made the right decision. you (atleast I) can't live the rest of your life like that. When you have kids there is good chance they will have something wrong as well. It's fucked up.

A guy I work with is married to a chick who is bipolar. It's a day-to-day battle with them. Just remember it won't get any easier, and her condition might get worse. Probably a good idea to say "peace out" before you invest much more into the relationship.

I dated a gal like that for 7 months. One day she was your best friend and would fuck your brains out, the next day she starts a HUGE fight with you because you put the TV remote on the TV instead of the coffee table
HAD to get out of the relationship (bummer too...cuz she was awesome in bed). But that's the way it goes.
RUN...do not walk...to the nearest exit.

I dated one for 1.5 years. She was a maniac in bed, and dealt with her issues by having sex... So much that I couldn't keep up. But the mental torture and day-to-day struggles are killer. Run away.. Far away!! It's not worth it.
I kept telling myself she will get better, but she would for maybe a week, see a new therapist, take Zoloft, etc... but then it would get worse. Sorry to say it man, but move on. For your own sanity!
