Here's the story.

Had my 20yr class reunion a couple weeks ago. One of my former classmates I grew up with was this girls' youth counselor and mentor growing up.

I was dating a 23yr old at the time (I'm 38).

The girl I went to school with tells me if I'm into younger girls that she has a friend that works for the same company I do.........turns out she works one floor below me and is the former Miss Iowa 2002 (she's 25)

The 23yr old and I are pretty much over with now.

Miss Iowa and I email each other a couple times and I go down to talk to her yeaterday.
Talked to her for about a half hour and she's a VERY nice girl.

The problem is, I think she's one of those TOO nice people.....and potentially a little more religous than I would prefer.

I don't know with my past of dating strippers, one night stands and boinking several girls on the 1st date would go over well with this girl.

There's got to be a big downside of dating a girl that's too nice...........right?

Seems like the classic giving yourself an excuse to fail. Ego's version of a release hatch. Don't worry about it and go for it. As for your personal history, she shouldn't know about it unless her friend doesn't like you and talked shit about you but if she's introducing her to you, then it's a non issue.

And you shouldn't blab your personal history to ANY girl on the first few dates anyhow. Guys have a tendency to blab too much and take away any mystery that they had. Girls like to daydream about the guy that they like. Dont spoil the dream with the really crappy reality. Let time and personal experince do that.

Also the age thing. It's a potential problem that YOU are creating for her. Has she said she thinks old guys are gross? For all you know, she LIKES older guys. I know many girls who are 20-25 who LIKE guys who are 28-35 because they are more mature, financially stable, more experienced in life, etc. Don't create problems in your mind where none exist yet. You can call it being prepared. I call it being chicken crap and delay tactics from what's gotta be done.

Oh, and I ALWAYS discourage my friends from ANY group activity if you are interested in a girl. It says 1) you are too much of a pussy to ask her out 2) You are creating too many distractions for her and yourself.

The best and most efficient and straight forward to getting to know a girl as a GIRLFRIEND material, and not as a friend is.........ASK HER OUT ON A DATE WITH JUST THE TWO OF YOU.

I met a Chinese chick who was a religious (Christian) nutjob and had recently x'fered from the U-Texas after being prom queen there. Ugh. Yes, she was cute; no, she had no clue about anything, whether it be economics or religion.
