My parents love Dark...My dad has already told him to call him Dad(weird, very weird) That's hard for me b/c my dad has never been a fan of interracial dating (or marrying). So that was definitely a compliment to Dark. My ex husband has never been able to get away with it!! 
His family on the other hand, let's just say, it's a make or break situation...not sure how that's gonna go. I hope in time it will get better. Maybe after another 2 years....

I experienced that when I was dating a Greek guy. No "off the boat" Greek mothers want their sons dating a half Italian/half Polish girl. She wouldn't speak a word to me, treated me like I was the devil.

Both my parents like my wife. My dad seems to enjoy her more than my mom. I don't think my mom gets her sense of humour.

His parents love me, they think I turned his life around and all that similar BS (I think he was ready to grow up and I just came into his life at the right time, but that's just me). I've spent Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving with them for the past 3 years, they welcomed me into their family long before we were even engaged.
My parents think he's swell, too.
My dad thinks we fight too much, but he doesn't think it's Scott's fault. 
My exboyfriend's mom HATED me. Like... HAAAAAATED me. She used to say some of the most God-awful things to me. Like this one time he made a move to steal one of my french fries and I slapped his hand away, no big deal, right? Well when he left the room, she got right up in my face and yelled about how men get food before women, if he wants my food I should give it to him, I should NEVER raise my voice to him, etc etc etc. It was horrid.

I think it helps with her family I am jewish, but not really practicing. They aren't heavily into the religion themselves. They are more happy with the fact that I am educated and treat their daughter well. And her father is really shy, and says he can actually have a conversation with me.
Though deep down I think there is some happiness about it.
My mom just said, "I can tell when I girl makes my son completely happy and she does, The others never did. Jewish mothers know this..."

Neither one of my parents have met my girlfriend. I'm Indian and she is Portuguese...not kosher in their books.
I've met her parents and they like me, though it took them some time to get used to the idea of their daughter going out with a dirty brown jatt sikh from England .
