For the first 21 years, my looks were pretty effective

 

I am familiar with several different options including the pill (Yasmin, Ortho tricyclin low, Lev-lite,...) the Depo shot, Seasonal (which is a pill that you take and you only have a period every three months), the Nuva ring (which you insert yourself and take out every month for a week) and some other options. I use the pill. I did do the Depo shot for about a year, but the side affects for me were hard to deal with, same as the seasonal. My friend has used both, and she was very happy with them, so apparently each individual reacts to the hormones different, as you would think.

 

i'm on the shot, been on for almost 5 years...

thinking it might be time to do something else (the side effects of the shot are kinda bad, but to me it was worth it to be 99% sure i wasn't gonna get knocked up)

I can't go on the pill (no women in my family are on it, we all react badly with lots of the brands, plus i smoke)...

The patch; Ortho-Evra. I've been on it for 9 months now, had no major problems but might have to switch back to the pill. Somehow I trust the pill more than I trust the patch.

My girl is on the patch and I know ti works well The only thing I don't like about the patch is feeling it on her body. The pill is IMO the sketchiest! You forget to take it 1 day and you're gonna be a parent. That deal where they insert something to block the spermies from her track is ok, but when you go deep your manhood gets poked by a little fishing string thingy. It feels wierd.

 

i know what you mean about the side effects. have you looked in to the nuva ring? some of my friends are using it right now and they really like it!

BTW two froms are the way to go. Everyone has these ideas in their heads that all these products suck or dont work. But thing about it, if something is 99 or 98 percent effective it sounds great but if you have relations every other day with your mate you are talking about 150+ times a year....so it's acutally just bound to happen.
