Another one bites the dust...Almost
Going to Hawaii in 2 weeks and will be popping the question to my GF. We're going to be in Honolulu for 6 nights. So here's your chance to pursade me to not do it! JK
I actually need some suggestions on location and ideas on how to do it. We are swimming with the dolphins at the SeaLife park and I think it would be memorable to do it there, but I think it might also be cheesy.
Thanks!

I'm going to be swimming with dolphins at the Sea Life Park. I thought it would be cheesy if I had the dolphin bring the ring hahah. But I was just thinking of doing it at sunset on a beach on the side of the road.

Go on a walk through some tropical paradise, have a picnic, and propose by a waterfall. Or a private dinner as previously suggested. Or, just scope out a place once you get there. You'll have a better idea than any of us, once you see the surroundings. See what types of adventures are offered, too.
I wouldn't do it anywhere where you might lose the ring....open water/dolphins sounds risky to me. Not to mention, how would you carry it on you wearing swim trunks without her feeling the box?

i think the dolphin thing is a good idea as a thought but wouldnt be good in execution because of all the things that could go horribly wrong. Just schedule a romantic picnic somewhere pretty where you can be in private.
I proposed to my girl on the beach during twilight. It was just her and I (and my friends hiding taking pictures as I got down on 1 knee). She loved it. It was simple and private, but I know it was really special for her. Previously in the day we cooked dinner (which is something we both enjoy doing together) so if you can lead up to the engagement with something else special, it will make it even better.
Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my friends had the capt on the airplane announce the question something like " and if you look to the left, you will see John Smith asking Tina if she will marry him"...
If she says yes, you can have the whole time there being engaged. If not, you can look for hookers....

But I think she wants a more private setting. I was thinking in front of a waterfall? I just need a tripod to take all the cool pictures when it happens.
^ Don't worry about needing to take pics as it is happening --- just enjoy the moment and let the reactions flow as naturally as possible...you don't need to be worrying about hitting the shutter or running off to set up the camera. You can always take a pic right after she has had a chance to take it all in, and you'll both still have the gleaming looks on your faces that'll make a great pic anyway. Errmm...I mean, you might look scared to death and full of regret, but at least she will be beaming.
