What's your favorite cut of steak?

I'm going to a pretty nice steakhouse this weekend so I am looking for thoughts. I usually order a filet, but I've heard that it's not always the best cut. So what do you guys consider the best cut of steak when you eat it?

Ribeye then a porterhouse

filet mignon is too expensive if you're hungry.

Enjoy sirloin usually I enjoy regularly...

But, as for the best...you can't go wrong with Porterhouse or Ribeye, IMO.

Ribeye aswell. It can be overcooked but still be tender and juicy as hell...

Ribeye, in between rare and medium, and absolutely no steak sauce

if you dine with your S/O, i highly recommend the Prix Fixe, and by all means, get the namesake...the porterhouse.

I disagree. The eating experience combines both taste and consistency. Fliet has a much better consistency than ribeye. If done correctly, fliet literally melts in your mouth. The taste is not as robust, but the taste+consistency overall is better.

Also, if the filet is bacon-wrapped, not only is it easier to cook to a melt-in-your-mouth consistency, but the bacon also intensifies the natural flavour of the meat.

Yeah its just super tender but the flavor is lacking. I think the porterhouse is best if you must have a filet...on one side of the porter is ribeye and the other is the filet...as explained by Alton Brown in one of his shows.

My man! Thats what I'm talkin about!

Many of my friends insist that medium rare/rare is the way to go for a big steak but I think if cooked properly Medium is by far the best for taste/consistency.

Thank god. I just presumed you take your steak very seriously.

Best steak(s) I've ever eaten were in Montana and the cut didn't matter. Even a shithole sports bar had better steak than anything I could find around here.
