Opinions on Napoleon BBQs...?

Well, time to procure a BBQ...anyone own a Napoleon? I'm looking at the Prestige 1 Series (propane).

Anyone own one...?

we were looking at those, but for our next house. they are supposed to last a long time.

That's good...the peeps I yack to here all are either Weber or Broil King. Now, I'd go for a Weber but wow, they are pricey...the Napoleon seems to pricepoint itself between Weber and BK. So, not a bad compromise.

You sure? I though Napolean was the more expensive of the 3.

And why not go with NG?

Check out this site www.bbqs.com. Gives you a good idea of Canadian pricing.

Not from the model I'm looking at (Prestige)...
It seems Weber is the priciest of the 3 brands.

What's NG...?

I've got my Weber hooked up to the NG in the house. Biggest difference is I never have to worry about running out of gas in the middle of cooking, or of having to run out for a fresh tank.

How difficult it is to get NG out to your deck depends on your house. If you can get it, I'd recommend it 150% over propane.

Wow...aside from the inconvience of needing to refill the tanks, does the food taste different...?

Might cost you anywhere from $100-200 to have it run. Depending on the distance. And the NG BBQ might cost an extra $50 over its Propane equivalent. IMO its a no brainer.

I think my builder charged me $50 to run the pipe out through the sill plate where my deck was going to be.

I did it for the exact same reason, never run out. It burns about 10% cooler than propane so your temps are a touch lower but never running out is

Yeah, hence why I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to get the gasline run. Also, NG BBQs are usually more too...

If the taste is no different, the refill of the propane tank once a year is not a big chore to me.

But, we'll see...I'll call the gas company tomorrow (they are closed today) and see how much it'll cost me to get a line run to the back...

IIRC it cost me $8/ft from the closest connection from a professional installer.

I guess it depends how often you'll fill the tank. I know I'd be filling it up much more often than once a year.
