Garlic Bread

Mods,

Can we sticky a thread for recipes only? This way we could have a collection of recipes, without all of the dialougue....

Crunchy Garlic Cheese Bread

I do not have specific amounts, as each person's tastes are different. Justkeep adding until you have enough...

Pre-heart oven to 400

Melt butter in micro
Add garlic powder
Add grated parmesan cheese. You want enough to thicken up the mixture
Slice french/italian loaf into thickness desired
Spread mixture on one side of each slice
Bake for 10 mins
Broil on high until desired browness.

This is very simple, but people rave over it.......

I don't think we need a stick, but I think it'd be good to do one recipe per thread. That way we can usefully use the search function

^ Why don't you usefully use that recipe up there for dinner tonight, kitchen bitch?

JWhite, I think he's right. While I think it's a great idea for us to post recipes here (I may only say that because I love posting recipes, but regardless...), its probably better to start a new thread for each one or for each type of food.

I just noticed that that recipe says to melt the butter in the microwave. That's fine, but it's really important to watch the butter as it melts; once it's mostly melted you should take it out of the micro and let the remaining solids melt on their own, because if you just nuke the whole stick, you'll lose a lot of liquid to evaporation or whatever phenomenon causes foods to dry up in the microwave.

That's a good point to make when you microwave anything(the reason I HATE microwaves), the simple answer to this phenomenon is... A microwave works by exciting the water molecules in what you cook, it causes them to move creating friction and that creates the heat, the down fall is it only cooks at the temperature water boils, is fairly uneven cooking, and will dry things out very quickly as the water evaporates.

Another cool trick is if you place a light bulb in a microwave and turn the microwave on the bulb lights up - not sure why this works and I am also not sure I would use the microwave afterwards, but if your ever at someones house you don't like, give it a shot.

She is a mod now.......that is one ticket to couch sleeping for you.

Of course, tuna casserole is pretty nasty. Give it to me raw or very rare please. not baked in pasta, cream , etc.

I can cook anything I want. I choose to allow you to believe I can't, so that I don't have to.
