Anyone done any services such as this?

My friends are doing and they gave me a free trial...So, I get the delivery tomorrow which contains two family meals.

Never done it, but it looks interesting, especially if you are time-challenged. No need to pre-plan the store shopping list.

Let me know how it turns out, it sounds like a great gift!

Posting to follow.

Interesting concept, the least favorite parts about cooking for me are the shopping and cleanup. This eliminates one.

We've been doing it for about a month. I was skeptical at first, but my son and I really enjoy making it and it takes good.

Got the package today.

Decided to make the Sesame Cod with Miso Japanese Eggplant and Soba Noodle Salad. Made the Salad and cooked the eggplant, waiting for the wife to get here before making the Cod...so far everything looks and tastes pretty good. Easy to make.

Pretty good. Perhaps a tad on the bland side but I might not have added enough salt to the fish.

I've been using it for about a month and it's pretty great.

It exposes you to all sorts of ingredients I haven't cooked with or even heard of before. Most meals are pretty good and they're filling but you're not stuffed after which is good for portion control.

What is the pricing on this stuff? Do you use it every week or just once a twice a month. I have always heard about it but never really looked much into it. I am starting to cook now more and it does sound like an easy way to try new things.

I can't think of a better easier way to try new things. For two people it's $60/week and that includes 3 meals for two or if you're single I guess dinner one night and lunch the next day for three days. It's billed weekly but you cancel whenever or skip a week or indefinitely.

It's definitely teaching me how to cook too.

Friend just surprised us with a free shipment, not bad but seems so wasteful with all the packaging. Yes, yes, I'm a hippy. We got three meals for two and the wife was out of town so I ate both portions...

Those freezer packs are reusable. I've filled the empty space in my freezer with them so that's going to lower my electric bill and carbon footprint, though I'm running out of space for now. The box is super useful so I'm keeping a couple of them too for whenever I need to carry cold items over to someone's house.
