Okay gameheads, what's the thoughts on getting my boys a Xbox or waiting for the Xbox II.

 

... I was not aware of an X-Box 2 coming out any time soon...

 

I say get the xbox...I've had mine for almost two months now.

I do not believe you will see a new xbox for at least another year.

 

only $150 and you get 2 games. new drives are quiet as a mouse.

 

It's supposed to be announced early January, but did see when it would go on sale.

 

Get what you want to play now. I would not wait for something that isn't even officially out (spec wise). Everything is just rumors for the x2.

There's PLENTY of life left in the x1 yet. As for PS2, even though it's graphically inferior to the xbox, it makes up for that 10 fold due to the quality of software titles. Same thing for xbox, games are getting way better now and the graphics are real eye candy (if you're not a pc gamer of course).

HDTV support, dvd player, and bootlegg game compatible, I say get it! Enjoy halo 2 and when the new x2 rolls around, decide then if you want to sell your x1 and games for the x2.

You'll never be able to keep up with technology...just get what you want/need now and worry about it later.

 

and its always easier with video game consoles, cause they arent they much to begin with...and you can usually make out decently on trading them in.

 

X-Box 2?

 

Thats a screenshot of a game (Oblivion) that will be on the PS3, XBOX2 and PC sometime in about a year or so.

Some AMAZING graphics and hardcore AI is going into it..

So.. with that said. WAIT for the XBox2

 

Its a year from now. buy now and trade later...not like video games costs all THAT much.

dude, but a xbox. They are cheap, then get the xbox2 when i comes out...

 

you can even get a used xbox for about $120

i think blockbuster sells them, 30 day warranty too

 

Yes, but I've blown money like crazy this past 12 months . . . 2 new central cooling and heating systems, complete kitchen remodel, new wood flooring, new appliancess, sky lights, and some windows . . . so even $100 adds up . . . right now especially since I've burned through my most recent tires in 7k miles. :o :P

Shoot and I still want some headers and a pully kit some day ! :P

Go to BestBuy and buy and xbox and their extended warranty. . . When the xbox2 comes out take the xbox in and you can apply the full purchase price of the original xbox to the purchase of the xbox2. . . I know that works with the PS2 and PS3. . . go in and ask about it. . .

ah, damb you have spent some $$. Might I suggest saving until xbox2 comes out!!

 

xbox2 is gonna be using Motorola/IBM PowerPC (like the one in mac) and their switching the video card to ATI. it will play the old xbox games as well, but it was just a rumor. and PS3 gonna be while before they annouse anything.
