Need all input on the pros and cons. Haven't gamed in 10 years. When I did I had xbox and mostly played Halo2.

 

^so, it depends on which games you want to play and if you care if your new box has Ultra HD blu-ray.

if you dont care about Ultra HD-blu-ray...and you dont care about games...then they are equal.

 

I have no idea about what games are out. It's been like 8 yeas haha. Just wanted some input on what people who game a lot are into.

check out the Sony exclusive games...then check out the Microsoft exclusive games...which games would you rather play?
I personally havent touched a console in 10 years and wouldnt want too...cuz there's not really any games I want to play.

I heard Forza on xbox is amazeballs.

 

I've always been PS fan so I'm biased but the Forza series is REAL tempting..

I have a PS3 that I tucked into storage.

 

I have both, the X1 is my sons and we have the PS-4 in the family room, both are good systems, and both now require a paid subscription to play online (ps+ or Xbox live), Jr likes the Xbox1 because all his friends have it, i like the PS for Grand Tourismo(which im still waiting on to be released), both have VR capabilities, so it really come down to what library do you want access to?

 

You will buy one or the other, be happy for a month, then it will collect dust. At least that's what happened when I tried to get back into gaming a couple years back. I don't have the time available to play it.

 

I don't think Maker cares about 4k discs since he's buying a medium range TV so the fact that XBone plays them is irrelevant. Both play apps but I think you said you had a Roku. Are you planning on gaming online with your friends or casual games? If the answer is yes then try to get the system your boys have so you don't play random trolls online. If you just want a chill casual gamer thing maybe a Wii U is worth it so you can play Mario Maker, Splatoon, and Zelda. If you care about story I'd lean towards PS4 because the Uncharted and Last of Us series have excellent stories, aren't that hard, and are really fun. Most importantly choose the one that gives you the biggest boner.
