xbox 360 overheating, which ones?
Does anyone know from which serial numbers to what are the ones effected by the overheating problem? i have one and if it is the one of the ones that do have the problem i want to return it and get the ones that have this problem solved.

I'm willing to bet it was just people who bought the first ones, and were putting them in enclosed areas.
I won't lie, these things generate some major heat....just keep in an open place where lots of air will circulate.

indeed, mine sits on a old industial style restraunt rack. I can't imagine what would happen if you put it in a shelf next to a bunch of audio equipment.
Looking at the xbox forum that i frequent there is not real knowing which ones come faulty.

It either was heatfoil or ignorance that caused the problem. I got my XBOX360 the first day and mine has not overheated since because, like a person with common sense, I the power supply in a well ventilated area.
