xbox 360

i already bought 2 xbox 360 and both of them crapped out on me. 3 rings of death. Why the hell is this thing such a pos? I mean the 2nd one i got crapped out on me using it for 3 hours into halo!! wth? i swear the xbox might have tons more fun games on the system but whats the point when the piece of crap breaks within 3 hours? i swear americans will never catch up to the japanese in quality and reliability and just overall craftsmanship.

Why did you buy 2 and not just send it back for warranty work through Microsoft for free?

Are you giving your 360 enough ventilation? I've been running Halo 3 every day, no problems. The console and exhaust air is definitely hot, but not alarming. I'm more worried about the DVD drive, that thing screams when I'm running games and every once in a while I hear the disc scrape, but fortunately it seems like its only the edges.

I had 2 xboxes in my household (my brother had one as well) and they both crapped out...3 of my 4 friends had the same problem, but one of them fixed it using the aluminum foil and blow dryer technique.

to be more clear i had exchanged two of them. cause i bought mine from costco so it was free. For the ventilation,it more than enought of that cause i put it right next to a window with cold air. Also with the cold temps lately i dont think it was because of ventilation, unless your supposed to leave it inside a freezer and play it.
i dont know is there suppose to be a future xbox thats going to come out that does run as hot or something? Cause i dont want another xbox unless there is. And what is up with the damn power block? Jesus its like a tank.

If it is next to a window, do you live in an area with a lot of dust?

Odd. My first one is about 11 months old, no problems. And the Elite I just got about 2 months ago is also fine. And AFAIK, none of my friends have had any problems either, and they've had theirs well over 1.5 years...
