Geezus... is Cyberpunk the new Crysis?
4K Ultra settings gets an avg FPS of 46 on the 3090. With Raytracing on, that drops down to 27fps on medium and 20fps on Ultra

This score and accompanying review caught my eye:

50 GB day 1 patch is never a good sign. Luckily I have been waiting so long for this game that I don't really care.
I'm willing to wait for prices on components to go down so I can actually buy stuff at MSRP. The game should be ironed out by then, as long as it isn't Andromeda bad.

I'd rather wait a while for patches/bugs to be ironed out.
And of course...wait for when there are actually new gen GPUs available at reasonable stock and at MSRP...

nope not really a thing anymore. SLI bridge is only available on the 3090 and it only brings marginal improvements.

Seems like DLSS is a savior for this game if you want decent frame rates on a 20 or even lower end 30 series card.
Especially if you want ray tracing. Which I’ve been reading makes this game incredibly beautiful.

Plus it seems like the AMD GPUs don't have an equivalent answer for ray tracing yet, which really seems like the way to go, moving forward.

I see people complaining that Cyberpunk isn't using SMT on Ryzen CPUs but is using it on Intel CPUs.

Wow, so they were using an Intel compiler that gimps the game if it finds an AMD CPU? I wonder if that affects the console versions.
#18
Actually that doesn't seem to be the case either, another Redditor made a clarification and the OP on r/AMD revised his post :

The game is buggy as hell.
#23
I would probably just wait for some patches at this point. If the bugs are that bad they usually ruin my enjoyment of the game, but that's just me

yea... i'm not going to buy it until maybe a native PS5 version is released.
Then again, most of the issues ive been reading are saying the base PS4 is unplayable. The PS4 Pro does better.

I have a base ps4. It’s not unplayable. But it is glitchy. I had those two crashes. And I had to reload from a checkpoint last night because the guard I was supposed to search for a keycard was unsearchable (apparently a known glitch) and then another part I was sent to shoot drones and my gun turned into an appendage or something and wasn’t firing anything. So I had to start that part over.
it’s frustrating for sure. But at least the save points are usually right about where the glitch happened. So I haven’t had to redo anything major, which is what would make me quit.
there was a new update yesterday that I installed after I went to bed. Hopefully it helps.

I'm so out of it for Xbox.
So, the current platform is the Xbox One, right? Then, this new gen is XBX and XBS? >_<

Thanks for changing the thread title. I forget to do that
Minor - but I suppose to make titles more concise going forward, use XBSX/S?

Based on that first line and the green logo in the sidebar, that is how it is colloquially referred to?

One of my favorite youtubers (been watching him for years). He's played some really fucked up games before, so for him to talk about the bugs like this is pretty bad
Can just listen to the audio on this

I will only agree that the game is the buggiest release I've played. And I knew that before I bought it. But all this crap these hardware geeks go on about it not being playable on the PS4 regarding fps, etc is all hot crap. It plays fine, load times are long but I've hardly exeprienced any kind of lag or slow down during actual gameplay.
People really need to get fucking lives.

I'll just wait also a while for more patches/fixes. Having such an amazing-looking game...I'd really be disappointed by the bugs and would want to have a smooth start to a game such as this

Jesus fuck that guy is annoying, I lasted two minutes with his "I'm a lonely angry virgin" monotone delivery while watching him pick his fucking nose on camera.

Hey, we have different senses of humor. I find his deadpan delivery and creative language hilarious
Yeah if you're enjoying the game, who cares? Since you guys couldn't stand him, what he says is that it is a very, very good game. Incredible world which looks amazing and feels very much alive.
He actually disagrees with reviewers complaining about the game being short. Said there's a ton of content and possibly people are just trying to rush through it to give their journalist opinion.
Didn't actually mention the FPS much, rather he talked about the game being buggy to the point of it preventing him from continuing with the story. Maybe it's different on PC? He ended up having to "simulate a Rube Goldberg machine" to try and trigger certain things to make the game progress.
There are a couple of other subjective complaints which I won't mention, and we'll have to judge for ourselves IMO. He doesn't actually roast the game that badly though - says it has surpassed his expectations.

Hot Fix out for console, soon for PC. SMT for AMD "fixed" but looks like 8 core and above are not getting it.

https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/37166/hotfix-1-05
[AMD SMT] Optimized default core/thread utilization for 4-core and 6-core AMD Ryzen(tm) processors. 8-core, 12-core and 16-core processors remain unchanged and behaving as intended. This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and based on tests on both sides indicating that performance improvement occurs only on CPUs with 6 cores and less.
