WiiU: Super Mario Maker
My favorite game that I don't own. Some of these levels look really really fun and if I had a WiiU I'd def get this game. So many cool Zelda, Metroid, etc levels made. Kind of like Little Big Planet but with better play mechanics.

VERY seriously considering finally getting a Wii U for this. Torn between caving in and buying one now, or waiting until Black Friday.
by the way kind of pisses me off Wal-Mart got the exclusive Super Mario Maker bundle Probably would have bought it if it was available elsewhere...
Either way, I played a couple "Maker" games before. The ability to download other people's creations and play through them was fun These kinds of games have infinite replay value.

I know a legit ebay seller has the Wii U for $260 with a couple of older games. I'd agree on waiting for BF since you'll probably pay the full $299 but then they'll throw in a game or two. Maybe the latest SMB.

Hopefully by that time we'll get some real crazy shit Mario levels. Like Youtube worthy stuff

Been watching some Youtube videos and it looks like too much fun.
But it looks like players can leave comments, hand-drawn pics and messages IN the level. I don't want to make a level and have people leave dick messages all over it Or does that only happen on Xbox Live?

I guess not At least nothing really intricate. I have no idea how they did it before, I guess it was all just random. But then again how would they know if one of them was a dud?

Finally got this game for Christmas, played it a bit today. One thing that's kind of odd is that you only start off with two templates; original Super Mario + New Super Mario U templates. You have to unlock them as you go along. I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow for it to unlock a new set of stuff for me to use. Not sure why that is.
Either way the game is definitely lots of fun even when you're making some basic stuff. I guess I can't really say too much about it since I'm waiting for things to unlock...

Can you play other people's levels immediately? And how are the in-game levels. What I noticed with Little Big Planet is that the gamer created levels were neat but the developers had the best levels.

Yeah the entire library of user-created levels is available as soon as you get started. Yeah the developer-created levels are some of the best. Most of the user-created levels I've played have been kind of throwaway but there's definitely some gems here and there. Most levels I've played are the no-touch levels where you basically just set the controller down and watch Mario go through an automated course It's fun the first couple times you watch it, but that's it.

Definitely looking into some of those. The "harder" ones I come across are only difficult in that they're cryptic and you're just supposed to jump around looking for invisible blocks, doors, etc. Nothing too creative

So Nintendo did an update, now they have a new Super Expert difficulty setting. Problem is you have to beat it ONCE on Expert to unlock it.
I haven't unlocked it Expert levels are seriously hard as fsck!

I can't even imagine. Every time I try to play through Expert mode I get to level 6 before I run out of my 100 Marios.

Sooo after having this game for 5 months, I finally got around to making my first level and uploading it. So far only 6 people have played it. It shows they each died once then gave up on it
OMFG THIS IS STUPID /ragequit!!!
It's really not even that hard; just a little tricky. I can't finish a full set of levels on Expert mode and even I could finish it...

Granted, a lot of them are just throw-away levels, but still, pretty crazy, IMO.

intendo has shared some new numbers for its hit Wii U game Super Mario Maker. Writing on Twitter, Nintendo revealed players have now created 7.2 million courses, which have been played by the community 600 million times. To put that into context, Nintendo writes, "If you played every level in Super Mario Maker for 1 minute each, it would take you nearly 14 years to play them all."

Christ... That big shell against the trampoline woulda made me ragequit.
I saw another video from that guy, this was pretty neat. Not ear-bleeding difficult, but still a cool concept.
I have no idea how people come up with this kind of stuff.... just experiment for days, I guess..

Bullshit! I made one level, uploaded it like a month ago. It was just deleted because it didn't get popular enough, fast enough! You gotta be kidding me!
My level was fairly challenging, ~50 plays and nobody finished it. It wasn't really hair-pullingly challenging, just a bit tricky. My guess is that people just skipped on it because it wasn't easy enough
