Wii U: Super Mario Bros. U

Damnit

My friend got the basic system on Sunday. And now I'm addicted to this game.

The Wii U itself is cool in some ways and completely frustrating in others. Nintendo crippled certain aspects that just really kill the experience. Such as if you want to play multiplayer...you HAVE to use wii-motes...One person cant use the gamepad, and another the wiimote..STUPID. Also...what the hell is the controller for that it comes with....does it only work with certain games?

The gamepad has some neat aspects to it....but it can also be annoying when certain games try to reinvent the wheels with it.

The menu/network system is not well laid out...it can be annoying to deal with until you get the hang of it.

BUT....Mario....its like playing good old mario from the NES/SNES days...And for that game alone I would piss money away on the system.

what annoys you about the gamepad? From the commercials it looks awesome, but some reviews have indicated that the response time is not all that great

In some games they implemented the "get a work out while you play video games" ideal from the wii.

For example on the nintendo land game there is a Link's Archery mini game...you have to hold the pad up using it's screen to aim your bow. I dont want to play games where I'm forced to hold a big ass pad vertically for lengthy periods of time. Its annoying as hell.

The gamepad isnt heavy...but anything gets a little burdensome when being held up fo a long period of time.

Kinda torn about getting a Wii U. Really want to play mario in HD, but also know that this system will be a money pit. It doesn't even come with a wiimote, WTF!

Picked up a Wii U and overall I am impressed except for a few small details.

The operating system redefines the term slow. It is very slow compared to the previous gen consoles. Nintendo please fix this

The battery life of that Wii Pad is horrid......

I sold the Wii for $100 and got the Wii U deluxe edition with SMB U for $430 (didn't want to wait for it to come from Amazon)

Things Nintendo got right

includes HDMI cable
works with Wii component cable
works with Wii accessories for the most part

So far their games are butter smooth........I am really enjoying SMB U for the glassic gameplay
