i mean, im not awful but i wish i could play better... all you killers out there... whats your secret? how is you game configured? (mouse sensativity, auto aim, best guns)
i also notice im alot better in the office map with a shotgun... any input would be awesome....

my only secret is to pay attention to sounds. thats probably the biggest giveaway to an enemy's location. you have a HUGE advantage if you can anticipate when someone is coming around a corner.
I've taken out loads of people by just opening firing as I come around a corner.
If that tip is too obvious, then you better check out some tweaking guides online for CS if you want more fps performance

Sounds are probably the biggest and best thing to do if you plan to kill lots. Not only walking sounds but miscellaneous sounds as well...If you hear someone enter the water and know that your teammates are nowhere near water in de_aztec, you knoe what to do...give them a magazine full of welcoming.
if you are moving your accuracy is shit.
learn how to strafe.
when you move out from behind something and quickly move back there is a split second when you are perfectly still. fire your weapon then for best accuracy and present the least amount of a target.
learn how to throw flashes.
like the others said, get some headphones or surround sound to identify where firefights are or for listening to footsteps.

watch demos of cpl/cal-i players to see what you need to do.
work on aim skills, aim for heads. use headphones, lower your sensitivity as much as you can, optimize your cfg for max fps and no loss. play against people better than you, try to get in a few scrims a week if you are serious... join a clan play cal.
guys thanks for the replies... as im starting to get more into the game im noticing all these things do make a diffrence..
i also noticed if your walking... the crosshair center gets larger (that means your aim sucks ass) and if you crouch, the crosshair center gets smaller (more precise shot)
the sound is another major factor.. if you hear footsteps and you have no friendlies near you on the radar.... come out blasting
im sticking to the rifles with the scope (not a snipe) but the one that zooms in just a bit (on the ct team its the "bullip")
anybody if you play online my name is Jet_black see you guys

tips: sound is probably the most important thing as everybody else said. in dust2, you can hear people halfway on the other side of the map through walls if you're keen enough. (great example: hear people at long a if you're standing at cat)
use radar in conjunction with sound. I found that lower sens works best for me, but a couple of friends play with insanely high sens and are pretty sick.
everything comes with practiceoh, and microsoft ball mouse > * i like the resistance.
If you're startin to get pretty good and still wanna improve your aim with the AK, strafe a bit, stop, then burst fire directly at the target. Middle of the burst, move the mouse down just a bit so the bullets are still hitting the target rather than recoiling up above the head. This takes a lot of practice. I recommend DeathMatch servers if you can find them. They're a lot of fun and help your reaction a bit too.
